Wow. So sad to see Igarashi leave Konami. Mark my words we'll soon see a Kickstarter game from him about a game very similar to the MetroidVania games he use to make. It'll be akin to Inafuna's Mighty No. 9 and it's comparison to Mega Man.

Really only the Belmonts are off limits. And after the Lords of Darkness games I think the old CV history, including the Battle of 1999, has probably been discarded.

This is definitely a good thing.  Castlevania as a franchise at the moment is like bad acid with the abominations that have been the Lords of Shadow games.  The best thing he can do is get away.

He can put together great games with even a small team and sell them on the 3DS eShop or whatever
