Platform/console? I assume by that you are including PC? PC easily; for one thing I need a reasonably powerful one for reasons other than gaming. If out of consoles, then it's another easy decision: the Wii. The PS3 was an extra indulgence with only one game I'd really, really miss: Metal Gear Solid 4. The end of a series that I've played from beginning to end. Ach. But that's only one game. Sorry Killzone 2.
No wonder TR has been getting really damn hard lately (51% complete). I didn't know I could buy weapon upgrades at any campsite using the salvage I've found. D'oh!
Aspro moment #381.
You must've had like 5000 salvage points.
Yup.
Michael Pachter Talks Too Much
Back to being too easy, now?
It's like when I discovered I had to upgrade my stats manually after levelling up in the first Yakuza when I'd almost finished the game

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
I had to double check to see what year this was.
Miyamoto played some Zombi U and finally realised that online can be cool.
Dear Square-Enix,
Why do you hate us so? Why do you refuse to give us this game again?
Are we not rad enough for this? I know I am. I'm willing to bet there's a few other gents out there who are also as rad. And we are ready to race I say.
Welcome to 2002, Nintendo.
I must say, I am enjoying DmC a HELL of a lot more than I thought I would! Ninja Theory made one HELL of a game! I like the new Dante a lot and don't mind the change at all. I like ALL of the characters in the game, as a matter of fact. I see they all seem to represent some kind of Sin or another, which I find to be very cool. Although the Bosses have been mostly forgettable, I actually don't mind the simple patterns and relative ease. Bob Barbas (Just doin' God's work), Lillith and her plastic skin... You love to hate them and killing them is satisfying, even the potty-mouth Succubus! The game play does feel like Devil May Cry to me with just enough Ninja Theory thrown in there for me to be able to manage to get through most of the game so far. I never seemed to be able to grasp Capcom's DmC's, but Ninja Theory seems to resonate well with me, so I am thinking I will actually finish this game! I am on Chapter 14 as of now.
Dante doesn't come across as nearly as much of a douche as I thought he was going to be. He's angry, but relatable and he shows his human side well too... more so, I think, than original Dante! I actually find him more of a sexy character too. Original Dante was smug to the point of obnoxiousness and less interesting to me.
Everything else is solid too. From the art direction, choice of colors, environments, gestures of the characters... all good. Ninja Theory knows their stuff and it shows! I think this is as successful a reboot as Tomb Raider and I look forward to more games in this new series!
Just to add: I know this is a reboot and goes in a different direction, story-wise, than the originals, but I --DO-- like (much like TR) the way they show Dante kinda growing into the character you know him to be... Like how the white streaks gradually appear in his hair as he gains more and more of his demon and angel powers. Nice touch. I like how NT ignored protests of the fan(boy)s yet gradually gave them their fan-service too. Over-all, EXTREMELY well done!
Okay, I topped yesterdays D'oh! moment with another one. I had accumilated 13 Skill Points in TR. For some unknown reason, I thought that meant Lara was getting stronger, raising levels, that kind of thing. Nope. Skill Points are currency that must be spent on improving skills. OMG. I've been annoyed all this time that Lara lacked any hand-to-hand combat skills, and all I had to do was fucking buy them!
I blame the lack of a paper manual for my stupidity.
Lol, I thought the game had a tutorial on this.
Tutorial? I don't even remember one.
Besides, I hate tutorials, and gloss over them or avoid them altogether if I can. Learning how to play the game is what the paper manual is for, goddammit.
Did you never use the camps?
Of course I used camps. I just never selected anything while at the camps until now. Yes, I am that dumb.
So I take it the PS3 version doesn't come with a manual?
No manual. Just an insert with the cover art, some legal writing on the inside, pic of the controller with the button controls labeled, and an advertisement for the strategy guide on the back.
