Huh? Whatcha talkin' 'bout, Homer?
I just finished the original Zelda game for the first time yesterday, and I'm now playing A Link to the Past.
The page showed up with no entries...so I thought I was first. Will edit.
As for what I've been playing - a steady fusion of OLD! Pokemon Ranger, Dead or Alive 4 and Halo 3.
I've been playing Modern Warfare 2, Super Street Fighter IV, and the Halo Reach beta. I love how in Reach you can now vote on either 3 different map/gametypes or pick none of the above to get another set of matchtypes. Plus you're not locked in once you vote you can change it until the timer runs out. It's so much better then simply vetoing on one intial matchtype.
I have interesting things to say about all of them if anyone is interested (except Y3, you can see my blog for that).
My penis tickles...
My balls are itchy...
I'm filling up to the brim....
Monster Hunter Tri becomes ALL SORTS OF AWESOME when you go online!
It's AMAZING to begin with in the single player...
...but when you quest with other people...
W-O-W ! ! !
The impossible becomes possible... (I finally got to kill a Royal Ludroth. TWICE!)
...you get all sorts of drops online... (I got the materials for the R. Ludroth armor, save one piece!)
...and now I'm hoping to be able to take him on OFFLINE!
Not only was the online ABSOLUTELY LAG-FREE and FLAWLESS,
but it makes the single player experience better TOO!
This is one of the best online experiences I have E-V-E-R had with a game...
...and I say the following in ALL SERIOUSNESS:
If you like (online/quest/mmorpg) games and you DO NOT play MHTri,
you are missing out on one of the best games OF THIS GENERATION ! ! !
First monster that gave me trouble in SP was Barroth, that bitch moves so weird I kept missing with the great sword. And now I need to pwn it several more times to get its armor. But yeah, farming for materials is easier online, but I like beating monsters in SP a few times or at least once first as well, to progress the SP side.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not if you live in Australia.
I want to, but I don't have the time or the energy at the moment, and by the time I do there probably won't be many people online and those that are will probably all be uber.
This is crazy. Do you guys think that this may be the last Gran Turismo? I can't see Sony letting another debacle like this go on for another 5 years. I guess it all depends on how it sells -- I know they make money off the manufacturers directly for special editions etc...
Gran Turismo 5 is a pre-order day one purchase, GT3 and GT4 were worth it.
I don't mind that its taken five years to make this game specially since PD already confirmed that they started from scratch to code this game so full CellBE+RSX+Blu-Ray, etc will mean that its more than a killer app, what I am interested in though is what PD is going to make afterwards, Omega Boost 2 perhaps or a new game.
Anyways the PS3 is not the only game with a five years in development game since Alan Wake, a single player non-online game is finally coming out this month.
I understand that you say you are a Dreamcast fan however I wonder if you are a SEGA fan.
The reason I say that is because Sony's Playstation 2, nor its marketing had anything to do with the Dreamcast having its plug pulled prematurely and if you played consoles before DC, let alone actually purchased them with your own hard earned money, I wonder how you would have felt about $300 dollars for SEGA CD and mostly FMV games, $150 32X that was an electrical hazard less than one year before the premature USA launch of the $400 Saturn, its $200 Netlink (oh yes I still have it and Genesis had a modem as well) the fact that when Japanese 3rd parties were enjoying over 5 to 8 millions console userbase and the SEGA 4MB expansion pack was released, Sega rushed to make a new console after having the beans spilled prematurely by contractor 3dFX whom they never should have dealt with leading to an out of court settlement and all of the seeds that lead to Sega not really having the money or consumer faith, oh did I mention how Sega failed to have their own answer to Nintendo Power by keeping Sega Visions out of retail outlets and not having a Sega magazine promoting Saturn in the USA.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/tgs-09-gran-turismo/57623 will answer your questions as to GT5's five year development also keep in mind that there will be 80s, 70s, 60s and so on sports cars like 7MGTE Supra Turbo and its variants, Mitsubishi Starion Esi-R, and more.
Also to conclude my reply to DCUltrapro, give Playstation 3 a chance, Sony has taken the old Sega attitude of game development without rushing out their games that is by far the biggest problem Sega fans had with Sega in that they really worked hard on their games only to rush them for holiday releases and later shipping them complete but not on retail like the Sega Direct Daytona CCE Netlink Edition.
As much as I enjoyed and still do my Dreamcast it was a mistake launched too soon when Sega should have focused on Saturn, bringing the 4MB ram cart and making games requiring the use of it, they never should have made the deal with Microsoft EVER to have Windows CE (what granted hackers a way into making boot discs for pirates without a mod chip and underdeveloping DC by having it have a single CPU when its first party dev teams had pretty much mastered Saturn's dual SH2s for A.I. and physics however primitive they were they had it.
Alcohol has the reverse effect on my gaming. I've been on the wagon for a couple of months and I've been able to get through games a lot faster.
being somewhat of a narcoleptic alcohol and gaming have largely the same effect on me ... they put me to sleep
Fuck Mirror's Edge. I'm half way through Chapter 7 (The fucking Boat) and the fucking thing glitches, I have to re-boot and now I'm back at the start of this fucking level again. ARRRRGGGHHH! This game not only makes me anxious, but it exhausts me. I hardly breath while I'm playing it... Iwata would be disappointed with DICE:
Isn't it meant to be intense?
I'm curious to hear what you think about FFV. That game was a major obsession for me. So much so, that after learning about it I paid $90 for a Japanese Super Famicom cart back in 1997 for it and downloaded the script for the game. And when it finally got a quality release in the US with FFV Advance I was all over it once again. It's probably my favorite FF game of all time.
