Just as a follow up. Yes, after going online and getting enough drops to forge the armor depicted above, I WAS able to go back to the single-player and beat the Royal Ludroth by myself!
I'm wondering if it would benefit me to eventually forge ALL the monster specific armors...? The Rhino guy has a diver (big daddy-like) helmet that gives you great water protection amongst other things. The Big Bird armor is strong against Fire, Ludroth is good for water...
I could NOT beat Ludroth 'til I got this specific armor! Specific elemental resistance is probably MORE IMPORTANT in this game than your Defense stat...
The biggest fact I love about this game is: You can go alone and you CAN succeed, with enough persistence. Going online IS NOT mandatory --BUT-- doing so makes the game itself that much more exciting --PLUS-- it makes single-player more enjoyable too. It's not FORCED on you... I'm typically NOT an online gamer... but Monster Hunter Tri successfully MAKES you want to go online --AND-- as for Nintendo's typical non-existent online presence, THIS game does a complete 180 in its face and trumps almost EVERYTHING ELSE out there on a CONSOLE currently!
AWESOME!
I now own a Black Nintendo Wii.
I have a very specific plan for this one, though.
At the twilight of the Wii's lifespan, I plan on going ab-so-lute-ly nuts, downloading everything/anything from the VC I can fit on a Mem Card and in the system's memory and making this particular Wii a complete history of the 8 and 16-bit games I loved when I was a kid.
Since the VC involves no moving parts and I don't plan on playing any disc-based games on this Wii... this library will be a solid-state, gaming museum for me for as long as the hardware lasts!

So... it's like PSO.
(In terms of how awesome it is)
Romanian trolls.
Pachter is gangster, he got two guns sitting behind him.
He plays RTS games at work on his work PC. Well that explains why he knows nothing, he is playing games all day long.
"I just don't think much of PC gamers." Pachter is awesome.
Or not cause digital copies come with all sorts of rules where it really isn't yours. And that is why digital stuff sucks. Physical copies for life!
NOT. LIKE. PSO. AT. ALL!
By the way, here is a screen-shot of me in my latest armor fighting a herd of Qurupecos!
So, it's not awesome then?
Actually that's not true at all. If you buy a dvd or movie and start renting it out to people for cash you could get in real trouble. Even schools break some laws when they air a dvd for a class without permission as it's classed as a public performance. You essentially have a licence to use a product in a certain way.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Well, I think it is a magical game. I particularly like the presentation on the GBA, just as I did the other GBA adaptions. I particularly like the touches like Bestiary and equipment optimization. The script is pretty infantile, but the structure of the story itself it very good. I was listening to the trigames.net podcast and on there they had a suggestion from a listener that FF4 should be converted into a full-on current day game, and the hosts argued (rightfully in my view) that the story would not hold up as there are a couple of places that are just straight out dumb. However, FF5 would be able to hold it's own as an action sci-fi film IMO.
The gameplay is challenging, that is for sure. You have to pay attention to the individual bosses and the random enemies are interesting enough and spaced out enough that it is not a battle every two steps. The internal level designs are good as well with minimal backtracking and common sense mazes and switches.
So I love it. The only pain it brings me is that 3 and 4 were not brought back in this fashion (instead they are in their bobble-headed, slow-paced formats).
Tidus pants.
Were you wearing a pastel jacket with the sleeves pushed up to your elbows?
From what I've seen of it through video games it seems like a nice place. But I bet it's over run with tourists etc... no? Is traffic bad?
Re: Mirror's Edge. Intense, yes. That is the good part about Mirror's Edge. It's a very good game, but I think the combat was added to the game for commercial reasons, not a part of the game -- it is certainly not consistent with the philosophy of the game. And the wall running sucks. But beyond that, this is a very special game... that has crashed on me three times now.
I too feel I should have waited the 4 extra years! DAMN YOU NINTENDO!
