Reserved for the odd completed game or two.
- Mario Odissey - 8/10 - technically beat this last year, but I'm counting it as an easy win for 2018
- Mario+Rabbids - 6/10 - gameplay was good, all the rest just grated. Also, longest end credits ever.
- Furi - 7,5/10 - that's right, I've added .5 as a valable scoring method. Enjoyable boss raid, but the 'cinematic' sections amounted to nothing.
- Rime - 7/10 - very moody game. Went in to it knowing nothing about it and was much darker than I expected. Framerate on Switch undocked is horrible though.
- Metropolis Lux Obscura - 4.5/10 - It's enjoyable for what it is a short Sin City like interactive novel with match 3 gameplay. Sold itself to me on the promise of nudity on a Nintendo console.
- Yoku's Island Express - 9/10 - Very enjoyable and charming pinball/metroidvania with unique gameplay mechanics. Enjoyed every moment of it and knows not to outstay its welcome
Reserved for if I finish a game.

A game I forgot I had! Thanks, Hyper.

20 years...it only took me 20 years!
3. 2nd of July: The Amazing Adventures of Captain Spirit!

Harder, grey fox, harder.
8. 19th of November: Subsurface Circular.
Great opening credits theme song.
9. 20th of November: Burly Men at Sea.
Cute.
10. 29th of November: Burly Men at Sea.
Groundhog Day, but even worse.
11. 9th of December: NecroVision: Lost Company.
Better and worse than I expected.
12. 23rd of December: NecroVision.
First half is bland to say the least after Lost Company, but second half is what the good bits of Lost Company were hinting at. The last level (pre-boss) is actually really good. Huh.

15. Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope - 28/11/2018
Tight gameplay, with sometimes frustrating level design.
16. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 07/12/2018
It only took me 75 hours on and off, over slightly under a year, but I got there. Damn good shit.
01. [04/09/2018] -- Night in the Woods (PS4) -- Not so much a game as a side-scrolling, light adventure-element, walking simulator, but, oh, that writing!
02. [05/24/2018] -- God of War (PS4) -- Every bit as good as Vader said. I possibly may like it even more!
03. [06/19/2018] -- Happy Birthdays (Switch) -- Fun little sim!
04. [08/09/2018] -- Persona 5 (PS4) -- 144 hours later...
05. [08/13/2018] -- Inside (PS4) -- Damn! What an ending!
06. [08/17/2018] -- Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (PS4) -- Play it with headphones!
07. [08/21/2018] -- Yoku's Island Express (PS4) -- It's a Metroid game. It's a Pinball game. It's nothing like Metroid Pinball tho...
08. [08/25/2018] -- Gucacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition (PS4) -- Boom-Shack-Calaca!
09. [08/30/2018] -- Shantae: Half-Genie Hero (PS4) -- I'm on a Metroid-Vania kick right now. Such a colorful, beautifully animated game!
10. [09/06/2018] -- Forgotten Anne -- Quite literally a playable anime. More puzzle/adventure than platformer though.
11. [10/06/2018] -- Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age -- Finished the game proper, now I just need to do the Post-Game content!
11. [12/05/2018] -- Assassin's Creed Odyssey -- 96 hour later, finished. Great game, I'll miss it, but moreso for the great depiction of balls and peen seen throughout!
May I cut down on long games this year.
1. Bear With Me [PC] (Episode Three - 1st of January to 6th of January) - 28th of December 2017 to 6th of January
It went in quite a different direction from what I expected. 6/10
2. Civilization V [PC] - 1st of January to 6th of January
Playing it yet again, won a standard game as Spain. Now that I've got VI I might put this one to rest for now. 9/10
3. Nioh [PS4] - 30th of November 2017 to 6th of February
It took me too long to finish. 8/10
4. Civilization VI [PC] - 7th of January To 12 March
My desktop computer isn't working properly, so I suppose it's a good time to stop. 9/10
5. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD [PS3] - 15th of March to 19th of March
I don't know why I played this. At least I got two trophies I hadn't got before. 7/10
6. Ratchet and Clank [PS4] - 22nd of March (first day) & 30th of March to 6th of April (to 13th of April)
Gameplay up, story/characters down. Got the platinum trophy for some reason. 8/10
7. Driveclub [PS4] - 13th of April to 2nd of May
Some good times driving. 8/10
8. Turok [PC] - 28th of June to 7th of July
A game I first played twenty years ago, but I've only just finished it for the first time. Much better with a PS4 controller than an N64 controller. 7/10
9. Mass Effect: Andromeda [PS4] - 3rd of May to 14th of July
I have open world ennui. Nevertheless, I'm not cynical enough yet to give it lower than... 7/10
10. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil [PC] - 7th of July to 25th of July
It took me this long? Started it on my laptop, finished it on the desktop. A massive technical upgrade over the first game. 8/10
11. Refunct [PC] - 26th of July
It was short and okay. 6/10
12. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile [PS1] – 3rd of September to 19th of September
One of my old favourites. 8/10
13. DOOM [PS4] - 25th of September to 12th of October
There weren't any domy at all. 8/10
14. Worms Battlegrounds [PS4] - 14th of October to 11th of November
A little disappointing but nonetheless enjoyable. 7/10
15. Resident Evil HD Remaster [PC] - TBC to 3rd of December
14-15 years after playing the original and not finishing it. 8/10
16. Holy Magic Century [N64] - 4th of December to 9th of December
The first RPG I ever played, back in 1999. Nostalgia surely sustains it. 7/10 or, more realistically, 6/10
17, Resident Evil 2 [PS1] - 10th of December to 14th of December
This was completed until I decided to do Leon second as well. 7/10?
By Miu Watanabe.

Splinter Cell Collection is done.
Chaos Theory is still the bees knees.
Yay! Finished my first game of 2018, Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Not quite as good as the previous two games but still a great game overall. There are some pretty tedious aspects to the game most notably having to play the Tiger! Tiger! mini game to improve Poppi and I didn’t particularly care for the randomness of acquiring blades. The combat is very enjoyable, the story is pretty good, and the music is much better then the last game however it’s not quite up there with the first Xenoblade Chronicles. It’s typically a huge game with a ton of things to do in it so one could easily spend hundreds of hours playing it. It’s very convenient to be able to fast travel anywhere at any given time even if it doesn’t make sense contextually. 8.5/10
Beat the story mode of Dragonball FighterZ and the game has gotten in the way of me playing a lot of stuff since the game is absolutely crack. It doesn't stack up favorably to Guilty Gear or even Blazblue as far as arcsystems fighting engines, but I prefer it to the one I tried in Persona 4. Game is straight lit to the max with my teen gohan, goku black, vegeta blue crew. The auto combos if anything are a poor safety net for scrubs because it's gonna teach you the poor habit of sticking to them, but luckily it never breaks the game or anything. Just a shame because man these scrubs are fodder as hell lol. The amount of people that don't know that 2H is the quickest way to counter that super dash is hilarious to me. Mostly been sticking to using my Ults raw as a counter to someone trying to rush at me, with the simple m>L>h>jc>2H>into supers usually being my bread n butter go to.
Beat Uncharted Drake's Fortune remastered.
Man that first game doesn't really hold up very well. It's basically Gears of War in the tropics. Move to room...kill 50 guys...move to next room....kill 50 guys, etc. The controls are super floaty like they forgot they weren't making a new Jak & Daxter game, and the aiming is totally fucking annoying.
Tomb Raider Legend, the game Uncharted got compared to, holds up much better honestly, because that game wasn't combat focused so the dated elements don't hurt so much.
Yeah in my opinion uncharted 2 remains the high point of the series, with lost legacy a close second.
I played some Kingdom Come Deliverance yesterday. It has a LOT of plot and story shenanigans going on.
Hope nobody minds that I start this thread, as I've already peeled off my first game of the year so I wanted to get this shit goin'!
