What have you been playing lately?

Not much more for me outside Bioware's kickass game:

Dragon Age Origins.

30 hours + in, barely a couple main plot questlines under my belt, as well as a few DLC missions, so far I've found more and better loot that what I managed to find during my 360 playthrough, a better UI and the possibility of quick fixes to common problems via the updater exe file included with the game install. The breadth of content this game has is overwhelming, truly.

Still playing my older stuff. This weekend was mostly spent with New Super Mario Bros Wii, (which i finally got around to completing) and The Saboteur. And that'll  be all i play for a week. As of last week, I no longer work from home, and for at least another week I don't even have a laptop anymore while its being wiped for security purposes. So not a whole lot for me, and for anyone curious that's also why I've had a diminished presence as of late.

Not a bad day for Serbia.

The Djoker won

The Serbian Male Waterpolo team won gold in European championships

And the Serbian Male handball team won silver in the European championships. So yeah they lost today, but they did beat Croatia before, so all is well!

Was amazing. Standard of tennis died after 4 hours but was still a great contest.

Yugoslavia beat itself?

Happy belated birthday Edge.

I've been playing Gears of War 3, Catherine and King of Fighters XIII. Just finished Rage not too long ago. Very cool game but had a pretty disappointing finale. I'm really looking forward to picking up Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Soul Calibur V this Tuesday. Grinning

It's a great game. Shame it really falls apart in a few places.

Not much else here. But I can talk about a game that I've been playing for a bit, and that's Soul Calibur V. Which is yet another example of how Project Soul can make a good game mechanically, but find someway to fuck up every other aspect of it.

I played very little over the last couple of weeks.  I re-instated the 360 back at the telly and i went back to Forza III doing bits and bobs I missed out on.  Such a beautiful, smooth and relaxing game.  Can't wait to get FM4 when it gets a little cheaper and start all over again

I finished Batman on new game plus yesterday and I am almost through with Zelda. I think I finally made my choice for GOTY. Well it should be a tie but I am not going to bitch out and pick one.

I finally decided on one as well, mainly for replayability.

Man I still can't pick a GOTY for last year because I have too many games left to play! As of right now though, its still Witcher 2 for me.

Yeah Dragon Age 1 is one of those games that really is a TON better on the PC...one of the few that I can really say that about, along with Crysis. It really is night and day. I liked DA 2, but I sincerely hope they go back to the style of the 1st game with DA 3.

Thanks to all you guys for the birthday wishes.

I've been just playing Assassin's Creed 4, about halfway done...and some NHL 12 here and there, of late. Good shit. I also can't wait to get Final Fantasy 13.5

Yugoslavia beat itself?

I just saw some extended highlights of the match on Eurosport!

The longest rally took place in the 5th set. That these guys are able to walk after 5 hours is incredible, but to be able to produce a fast paced rally of 20+ shots is nothing short of mind boggling! The real winners here are the people that payed money to see that match. They really got so much for their money. The real losers are the people that paid money or wasted time watching the female finals. God damn that was horrible. They singlehandedly set back all female sports by at least 10 years.

And check your calendar Foolz, it is not the 80s anymore. Yugoslavia does not exist anymore.

I thought the Djoker needlessly prolonged the game and made very heavy weather of it.  Had he been more focussed and determined he would have taken one of the many chances he had in the 4th set and finished the game.  Nadal to his credit somehow hang on thanks to the aforementioned lack of killer instinct by the Djoker but the difference in standard was very obvious between the 2nd and 4th sets.

But anyway, most people would have had a heart attack trying to do six hours of that... so lots of credit to them both.  Tremendous athletes

This is pretty cool. Still not sure I want it, but I haven't played it b4.

IGN MGS 3D preview said:

As for the 3D effect, this game offers one of the most impressive uses of it I've yet seen in a game. Screenshots simply don't so MGS 3D justice - you'll have to see it on the system to truly appreciate how amazing it really looks. The 3D really brings the jungle to life - the added depth makes everything that much more vibrant and beautiful, and lends to the feeling that you, yourself, are really crawling through that place. The light shining through the trees, the textures, it all pops on the 3DS screen, showing off how powerful this unassuming system really is. People and objects also stand out more thanks to the added depth, which makes finding people, objects and food that much easier.

The controls feel great - except, naturally, for the glaring lack of a second analog stick. Instead, aiming and camera control are mapped to the face buttons. It's more than passable, and the fact that you're able to adjust the sensitivity to your liking helps quite a bit. I have not had the chance to test the game out with the Circle Pad Pro (the 3DS attachment releasing on February 7 that adds a second circle pad to the right side of the system), but even if you opt to not get that strange device you'll still be able to play MGS 3D just fine. Though a second analog without the need of a peripheral would be ideal, once you sink into the game (and your right hand learns to stop reaching for that other stick), it's smooth sailing, and you'll hardly think twice about it.

One of the more impressive changes to the 3D edition actually comes care of the system's dual screens. As you would expect, inventory, weapon selection, menus, etcetera are all much easier and quicker to access - no more wasting time fussing through the menu screen. But the best part is that the HUD is now completely clear. Rather than being cluttered with various icons and bars, you can now appreciate the gorgeous visuals displayed on the top screen better than ever, greatly heightening the cinematic experience, which is crucial to this particular game.

Those are a few of the impressions I've walked away with based on my time with a preview build of Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater. So far it looks to be nearly identical in terms of content to its source material, which is certainly not a bad thing. The experience as a whole, however, is strengthened by the system it's on, which makes for a more streamlined experience that comes alive thanks to the 3D presentation.

I saw the now off broadway show Jersey Boys last night. The show was fantastic, it's the story of Frankie Valli and the four seasons. It's a great story, really funny and it course has fantastic music. This should definitely become a movie at some point.

Someone at neogaf mentioned something about that and the rain delay.

I am paraphrasing here, but he said something like:

God saw how many breaks opportunities Nole wasted and he wept.
