^Actually there is. Some retailers have money back guarantee and that entails that if a product drops in price within 30 days the amount you paid too much will be given back to you. So in other words you can buy a 3DS right now, get in the Nintendo program to download those free 10 games and then get your 80 bucks back.
I picked up Playstation Move the other day.
Pretty cool shit. Once again Sony has done a nice job copying Nintendo yet improving upon them. Supposedly the controller's nut turns color based on not only what game you are playing, but also based on the PS Eye reacting to the color layout of the room you play in, to make it easier for the Move to operate perfectly. My nut tends to turn purple, because I have no purple in my room I guess. Pretty cool.
The controller is definitely a step up from the Wiimote. It has a better, much more comfortable shape. All the buttons of the standard pad, so it doesn't have the Wiimotes problem of not enough buttons. And for the most part, the layout of the buttons is outstanding with everything easy to reach; no uncomfortable stretching to hit the 2 button like on the Wiimote. The analog stick even has the click in button, and the triggers on both the Navigation and Move are much better than Wiimote's.
The only thing I don't like about Move? The placement of the select and start buttons. Its retarded. For some idiotic reason, Sony decided to put the X and O buttons on BOTH the Navigation & Move, which makes no sense considering all 4 face buttons are right at your fingertips on the Move. Meanwhile, they akwardly placed the select and start buttons, which are very hard to click in...by the way, on the sides of the Move. So you have to really stop whatever you are doing to concentrate on turning the Move to the side to hit either button. Its actually comparable to trying to hit the 1 or 2 buttons all the way down on the Wiimote in the heat of battle. Good luck with that. They could have just put select and start on the Navigation pad right where the secondary X and O buttons are, and it would have been the perfect controller of this type. Oh well.
Anyway, so far I've played a bit of Resident Evil 5 and the demo for Killzone 3 with it....each works very well. Resident Evil 5 controls and works EXACTLY like RE4 on the Wii, so if they don't include Move controls in the PS3 port of RE4 they are morons. No control changes could make RE5 as good of a game as RE4, but without question, the game is much more fun to play with Move...and I'm looking forward to checking out the expansion episodes I haven't played yet.
Killzone 3 controls similar to stuff like Goldeneye on the Wii, and the game itself seems like an improvement over the last game IMO. I only played maybe 5 minutes with it, but all the usual Wii controller options were there, like deadzone size, sensitivity, etc. And it controls well. I'm not really a fan of Killzone's art style though...I don't know, even though the graphics are high quality in these games, they just look odd to me.
So that's my Playstation Move review for you guys. I give it an A+, nice improvement on the Wii there Sony. I honestly don't know how Kinect gets more hype than Move....hmm, a camera or an actual controller that you can play games with? Baffling.
This is the smart thing to do.
I don't really care about any of the old GBA or GB games. At least not the ones that Nintendo is offering. They're good games, but I've either played them to death, or just haven't been interested enough to get them the first time around. Even if I bothered to do that, I'd likely play them for a few minutes and then a day or so later the 3DS would sit on a shelf until Mario Kart came out.
What really sucks is no trophy support for Metal Gear Solid 4. Its still the best PS3 has to offer, in my opinion. What, does Konami have better things to do than put out a trophy patch for the only game that matters from them?
It doesn't have more reachable inputs compared to the Wiimote. Wiimote: d-pad, + -, A B. That's 8 inputs reachable in gameplay with no effort. 1 and 2 aren't "awkwardly placed" they're there mostly for sideways use even if games also relegate functions not needed in the heat of action like map screens and score boards there. So they're more like the start and select buttons on the Move. So essentially they have the same amount of gameplay buttons (not counting system buttons like Move and Home). The nunchuck has a few less though.
Also, the Move does lack inputs a dual shock has too since there is no clickable analog stick or two triggers on the wand so once again you'll have to map something differently like say, a shake instead of a button to reload or whatever, which is a practice that works fine for Wii too.
Granted, the Move is certainly more comfortable, they didn't have to limit themselves to a TV remote shape to make it look familiar as they weren't the first to do it and the style was already popularised.
It doesn't control exactly like RE4 on the Wii, Move's pointer tends to be a little worse, a little laggier and over time have some drift due to the fully motion control based implementation while the Wii's is based on the two points of the sensor bar the Wiimote's camera tracks therefor always giving you the exact same point of the screen every time you aim at the same sensor bar point (which with the lightgun games' calibration can be one and the same, though FPS skip that part as you don't aim in them like you do in lightgun games so you don't even notice it's a little off in game as long as the controls remain consistent, which they do) with perfect accuracy and instantly (as long as the game is done well, there have been a few bad implementations like Red Steel's and that in Twilight Princess which felt weird for whatever stupid reason).
As a general rule of thumb, move has better motion tracking (mostly due to the Eye functions, as while the Move itself is also potentially superior games wouldn't necessarily show it in practice as there tend to be sacrifices to 1:1 control not just because of device capabilities but to allow for better gameplay and stop wild swings from being more effective than proper playing), while Wii has better pointing though of course it varies on implementation so the best of either will be better than a mediocre implementation in the other.

Yep. When? (in terms of hours from now)
Oh yeah I forgot about the rebate that some stores offer for the 3DS. That's a good deal if you want to spend the money right now for a 3DS.
And yes I wish Metal Gear Solid 4 had trophy support as well.About an hour and a half from now. It's about ten past eight here.
Okay, see you then. We need a third people...
I finally got around to watching the Mortal Kombat Legacy online show. Its actually really good. They ditched the idea in the trailer about some dumb realistic MK and went full on mythology. Its got Outworld, Netherealm, cyber ninjas, a real Baraka, its done well. Clearly its really low budget but they do the best they can like going with animation for pieces of Outworld and CG Cyrax and Sektor, which look awesome. The only episode I did not like was the one episode where the director put a message in the front saying this is what he would like to do, make it gritty real with a hint of mysticism. Well that resulted in an episode about Raiden where he is in a mental hospital, it was horrible and totally pointless. As long as the director doesn't do what he wants and sticks to the fantasy side of MK the show is great.
The Scorpion episode was especially well done and I can't wait to see where they go with his character. Now where the hell is Liu Kang?
Batman costume DLC
Sweet! I want classic comic batman and TAS Batman.
Why is there a fat Batman? Is that a FatMan?
Good luck finding one of those!
I like the Zelda games well enough, and always make a point to play them but not so much that I get a system to play them. The Ocarina of Time remake isn't real high up on my list.
