Just played a couple demos: Limbo, which is very atmospheric and that's about all it has going for it. And Anomaly: Warzone Earth, which is a pretty cool take on the tower defense genre making it actually a tower offense game. I'll probably get the latter since it's a midweek madness deal and skip the former until it's dirt cheap on Steam.

I just started Epic Mickey, got past Its a Small World and started the next world after mean street USA which is the toon town. The gameplay is so basic, it almost feels like a long lost PS1 game. There is the slightest hint of a Deus Ex like choose your own path kind of thing but its very basic and usually involves only two different paths. Combat is almost non existant, so is platforming. In fact I dont know what i have been doing, I guess exploration with fetch quests. Clearly they could have done more but the setting and story has me totally hooked since I am a huge Disney fan.

BTW, sorry for fucking up co-op last night. Nyaa

Have they announced a released date or at least an approximate release date for Mario Kart 7?  At this point that's really the one and only game on the 3DS that I'm super interested in playing.

I played Pilotwings 3DS this morning, seems pretty cool, I would like to get it when its cheaper.

Iga_Bobovic said:

^Actually there is. Some retailers have money back guarantee and that entails that if a product drops in price within 30 days the amount you paid too much will be given back to you. So in other words you can buy a 3DS right now, get in the Nintendo program to download those free 10 games and then get your 80 bucks back.

Free 20 games, 10 gba games, 10 NES games

SteelAttack said:

It must be based on Frank Millers heavier, older Batman in the Dark Knight Returns and the Dark Knight Strikes again.

Original artwork, slippy has a purple bead necklace?

Unfinished SNES sequel used Super FX Chip 2.

The SNES was to get Star Fox 2, a game that made use of a version of the Super FX chip with expanded memory, called the Super FX Chip 2. Shigeru Miyamoto and Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert discussed the project, which went on to become Star Fox 64, in an edition of Iwata Asks.

"Yeah. We had quite a script for Star Fox 2 and had it running, with robots morphing and running, and attempted an all-range mode in which you could fly a full 360 degrees," said Miyamoto. "We expanded the Super FX chip's memory to make something called Super FX Chip 2."

"That became the basis for Star Fox 64. For Star Fox 2, we had really pressed the boundaries, like by having Arwing fly around a full 360 degrees, flying to one extreme and then back again," he added.

Dylan Cuthbert commented on the time it took to develop the Super FX Chip 2, and Miyamoto revealed how other companies were pulling ahead in terms of polygon graphics.

"And other companies' game consoles were using polygons all over the place, so we didn't think we could catch up even if we stuck this expensive chip in the cartridge, so we rethought it," Miyamoto said.

The game eventually turned into Star Fox 64 for the Nintendo 64.

"It started shaping up in a number of ways as soon as we began developing Star Fox 64," said Miyamoto, "like with it being a shooting game even as various characters show up and you talk with them in an unfolding drama, and like how you have teammates, and if one of them gets done in by an opponent and drops out, it syncs perfectly with the game."

Borderlands 2 officially announced

2K Games has confirmed that it is working on a sequel to Gearbox Software's popular shooter Borderlands.

Borderlands 2 will be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC during Take-Two's next financial year, which begins on April 1st, 2012.

A first look at the game will be available to members of the press and consumers at both Gamescom 2011 and the Penny Arcade Expo.

So far, all 2K is willing to say on the game's features so far is this: "Borderlands 2 features all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story. Players will reveal secrets, and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across the unexplored new areas of Pandora."

Yay!!

I finished Resistance Fall of Man last night. Things picked a bit in the last few levels but all-in-all it was a pretty boring game. There are some interesting weapons. Hopefully the sequel will be more exciting. I didn't try the multiplayer portion but having 40 players sounds like it would be a blast. I figured I'd just wait and play mp in R2 since there is likely going to be more people there plus they upped it to 60 players, should be a lot of fun.

Yeah Resistance is shockingly drab and boring coming from the same guys that make Ratchet & Clank. Even the weapons are boring....you'd think they would have been a highlight.

I will probably pass on Borderlands 2, unless its a big improvement over the original. The game was just too repetitive for me to care about doing the same thing again for a sequel.

Yeah Resistance is shockingly drab and boring coming from the same guys that make Ratchet & Clank.

I see a pattern here. Naughty Dog used make Crash Bandicoot and Jax and Dexter they are now making Uncharted.  Sucker Punch used to make Rocket: Robot on Wheels and Sly Cooper they are now making Infamous. They are went from cartoony to more realistic.

Iwata on how the 3DS price cut may affect Wii U

Iwata said:
With regard to the influence on the Wii U, what we have to take most seriously is that the price markdown could damage the trust of the consumers who bought the Nintendo 3DS just after the launch. I feel greatly accountable for it. Our decision of the price markdown this time has a side effect that, at the launch of the Wii U, people may feel that the price might drop in the near future if they wait. Nevertheless, we have decided to cut down the price of the Nintendo 3DS as we consider it as a necessary decision now. What we will be able to do to recover the consumers' trust before the launch of the Wii U is very important to us. Since the Wii U we showed you at the E3 show in June was still in the development phase without very specific proposals on the software titles, we are going to announce the release date and the price next year when we are able to explain the specific proposals. Anyway, the biggest influence is on our consumers' trust, I thin
