New weak! So, whatcha all been playin'?
I've been playing a healthy dose of various XBLA games, and trying out a TON of XBLA demos. There are some truely fantastic arcade games available on that service.
Okami, worst Zelda game ever!
Waiting for Beaver 5...4....3....
Worse than those Philips CD-i Zelda games?
Waiting for Vader meltdown
5...4...3...
I was bargin hunting last week and picked up:
Xbox 360
Culdcept SAGA - $20
The Last Remnant - $35
Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 - $10
Raiden Fighter Aces - $19
Wii
The King of Fighters Collection Orochi Saga - $30
PS2
The King of Fighters 2006 - $10
Samurai Showdown Anthology - $15
This weekend I played some of each of them, except for the PS2 games, to try them out and see which one I felt like tackling next for awhile. I'm going with The Last Remnant right now. Not very far in it but it seems like it should be pretty good. Some great music in it and it's a nice looking game with some cool monster designs. Story seems like it should be interesting. I installed it on the HDD so the technical problems like texture pop-in and framerate stuttering are very minimal.
Thats not a Zelda game!!!!!
I have been a gaming whore, I have a new game every night almost. Right now I have Overlord 2.

Arrrrrgh! I'm still waiting for stores here in Canada to get Blazblue in. I'm hoping I'll be able to get it tomorrow.
Test Drive Unlimited: Picked it up for about a tenner. Very interesting take on the arcade racer genre. Open world, hundreds of miles filled with single player and multiplayer races, customization options, and time trials.
PGR4: Once it clicks, it clicks. The series might be stale, but more than competent visuals and awe inspiring dynamic weather system are enough to warrant a complete playthrough.
GT5 Prologue: I caved in and I don't regret it ONE BIT.
I played Blazblue at a friends house, that is one crazy fighting game.
Guys I wrote some reviews, take a look at them, its on the front page.
Finally!
Its a great game in that it plays like Goldeneye/Perfect Dark....not like every other shooter on the market these days. Every level has its own strategy, and each difficulty level has different objectives and different ways to go about it.
Also, as you replay levels you keep the weapons you finish each mission with, so you can go back through older levels and just cause hell.
After finishing up the first week of The World Ends With You I've put it down and likely will not be picking it up for a while. For some reason this new segment just can't hold my interest at all.
Instead I've been doing a lot of retro gaming with the Dingoo. Mainly it's been with the Minish Cap, but I've also gone 8 bit with Duck Tales, Bionic Commando, and Rush N Attack. Due to that I actually discovered a game that I never knew existed and frnakly kind of wish I hadn't discovered it.
Any of you remember Kid Niki Radical Ninja by Data East? I know someone here and I spent a while talking about it (either Bugs or Travo). Anyway what I found out is that there was a sequel to it that never made it to America:
It's pretty awful. Spinning sword aside I never would have guessed it was Kid Nikki. The game takes place in some kind of weird theme park. Completely worthless game but still kind of funny to find out it even exists.
Prologue is fantastic isn't it Steel? Online is pretty fun too. Those crazy Japanese always use Japanese cars!
I've been playing Valkyria Chronicles. Fan-bloody-tastic.
Yeah, PDZ is a really great game. It was the first 360 game I bought along with the system, and I had a lot of fun with it. I still go back and play it every now and then.
Wow man, you're having an even bigger fighter revival summer than I am. i think i will get those anthologies/collections for the psp some time as i doubt they were released for home consoles in europe.
i ordered Blazblue from a Canadian site (this will be my first import game for the PS3) and they sent me a confirmation of shipping on July 3rd so that may be an indication of when canadian stores started stocking it
yeah i have a great fondness for the original radical ninja which i used to play in the arcades as a youngster. i think i'll try to forget that there was a sequel since you say it is (and since it looks) so bad.

i have been playing loads of Animal Crossing, and little bits of: Icarian, Street Fighter IV, fifa09, Civilization Revolution DS, Fire Emblem DS.
i have been very annoyed with my DS lite as the touch screen has been getting more and more "off", especially the bottom part of it and it makes it impossible (and enraging) for me to play beloved games like Ouendan and Picross. I did try calibrating (a million times) but no joy. i'm thinking about going back to my original ds. that never had any issues with touch screen accuracy

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Hope its good. Hope I get the xbox back soon.
I've been playing............. well RE4.
I was lamenting not being able to play RE5 yet, so I kicked in RE4 for a quick blast for the village area. That quick blast became two long hours and then two more hours the next day.
This game is still incredible, still looks gorgeous visually on an SDTV, the pacing is perfect, there is barely any repitition. I used the special costumes for the first time, Leon has his RPD outfit I knew that, but now Ashley stands around in this cowgirl outfit with tight jeans distracting me.
I just got back to the castle. Game is epic.
Also, animal crossing. Awesome.
The last set was so unbelievably boring. I gave up after they were like 13 games each.
I was for Roddick as well, 3 time runner up now. Federer is boring, he bores me.
If Nadal wasn't injured he would have won the French and Wimbeldon. Nadal is like the only guy who can consistently wop Federer's behind. I remember last year's Wimbeldon final, Federer was playing his best and Nadal was playing better.
This year Roddick was playing his best and Federer was slightly under, missing a lot of balls.
Why I dont rate Federer that much as a great champion is that.... well let me explain this. He is a great tennis player, undoubtably one of the best. But he hasn't had the competition of the past. In the golden age of tennis, which is when I used to be hugely into it; you had such fierce competition with a large number of great guys.
You had Becker, Ivanisivic, Henman, Rafter, Sampras, Agassi, Courier, Martin, Chang, McEnroe etc. And they were all vying for the championship. Since then you've had this lull where Hewitt had a good run and then everyone tailed off but the underacheiving Roddick and then Federer showed up in a period when everyone else was shite. Then Nadal showed up and it's basically those two guys winning everything.
If Nadal is not playing you might as well hand a grand slam trophy to Federer. Because there is a huge gap in quality. Only Djokovic won one.
