New Week, and it's nearly E3 time!
Whatcha been playing?
I've been playing Paper Mario: TTYD off-and-on all week. I finally beat the dragon, and got the first star. It's taken me 5 hours to do that. Either this game is pretty long or I suck at RPGs (I believe it's the latter
).
New week so you know what that means. WTF are you playing?
I've finally hung up my gloves on Punch-Out (though rest assured I will return), and I've beaten Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, but I still have a lot of crests to go to unlock the hidden levels. BTW, I know I've said it a few times but this game has really won me over as an underrated classic. If you didn't play the original, grab this game now.
For upcoming games I don't have anything retail on my radar (good thing as I'm broke), but I believe Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is due to be released tomorrow on WiiWare, so I'll probably pick that up assuming it's decent in length (looking for around 12 hours or so like the original).

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThat's like asking, "What's water?" Everyone one on the planet should know the awesomeness of E3!
How's the game anyway? I was a fan of the original, but there's something holding me back from picking up this version. I don't know. . . that art style kind creeps me out.
I haven't quite formed an opinion yet due to the aforementioned Ice Level suckage. It comes across as a bit bland compared to its NES counterparts thusfar, though. Speaking of which, where's my Adventure Island II?
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileStill playing Punchout. I just got to Piston Honda in title defense mode. I'm also getting back into Animal Crossing again.
But I have been getting back into Meccha! Taiko no Tatsujin, which is awesome and asskickingly hard at the same time.
Also, do look forward to this weeks podcast. It's insane.
When deciding which version of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel to purchase, keep the following bullet-points in mind:
- Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions play JUST like a console
Diablo 2, so if you are looking for a game like THAT you have no other
choice! (Tie: PS3 and Xbox 360)
- Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions have fun graphical glitches
like pop-in, screen-tearing, frequent loading that freezes the over
world map, odd shadowing and transparencies --AND-- slowdown when the
dozens upon dozens of Kobolds attack you en-masse. (Tie: PS3 and Xbox
360)
- Sony seems intent to never allow us to scratch the
loot-collecting, high-definition, action-rpg, multi-class, multi-player
itch that was Champions of Norrath on a current generation console
--AND-- Too Human just plain sucked goat testes, so AGAIN you have no
choice in the matter here! (Tie: PS3 and Xbox 360)
- Despite ALL of the flaws the game is addictive as HELL, has an
AWESOME sense of humor, has MULTIPLE skill levels (Bronze, Silver,
Gold, Platinum and Niobium... errr... wut?) --ALL-- with various enemy
types that level according to your character to keep things challenging
--AND-- Multiple races --AND-- a GOOD or BAD path option, complete with
differing side-quests for race/good/bad Storylines --AND-- an
explorable world larger than Oblivion with MORE quests... *pant, pant*
(Tie: PS3 and Xbox 360)
- BOTH have online/same console COOPERATIVE and PvP play --BUT-- PS3 users get this FREE. 360 people, you need to pay for Gold! (Advantage: PS3!)
- The 360 version is a port of the PC game. In the porting --ALL--
of the game-crashing issues present in the PC game were brought over to
the Xbox version, including a save-file bug that can CORRUPT your
ENTIRE save file, wiping away ALL of your characters, ALL of your
progress and HUNDREDS of hours of your life in an instant! Wheee! Due
to the inherent laziness of game reviewers these days and the
inexplicable rule of not EVER writing TWO separate reviews for TWO
different versions of a game on TWO different consoles --EVEN WHEN--
there are issues present in one version that caused a reviewer to lower
the score of the game based on those issues that are NOT PRESENT in the
OTHER consoles version, most players don't realise that the PS3 version
is --NOT-- a port and --HAD TO-- be programmed from the ground up for
the PS3 --AND-- most of the issues present in the PC and 360 versions
--ARE NOT-- in the Playstation game! There is a patch already being
approved by Microsoft for the 360; one for the PS3 is being worked on,
but has not been submitted to Sony as of yet. Prolly cause the PS3 game
doesn't NEED it as much. (Advantage: PS3!)
- Buy the PS3 version and you can play with ME! Well, not literally; I mean online... **alright, literally, too, but I digress** (BIG Advantage: PS3!)
Decision: PS3! ! !--NOW-- Go out and buy the game so I can introduce you to my thong-wearing, crimson-haired, High-Elf, Magician Phantana and her hand-crafted Poisoned Staff!**
**Yes, I play a staff wielding woman in the game. You don't have a choice, ok? About being a woman, I mean... ...for some of the classes... You can be a Male Inquisitor or an Anubis-Temple-Dog-Thingee... but they both seemed too evil for me... and the Seraphim woman seemed TOO good... there's nothin' angelic about me! I DO like staffs though... I play with 'em all the time! Mine's not poisoned though... it could give you a pretty bad disease, but... whatever... again, I digress!
Where did you find this information about the 360/PC version being a sesperate game to the PS3 version?
I poured over reviews of this game to see if it was broken enough to make me NOT want to play it.
(I --HATE-- glitchy games, but I am having a GREAT time with this one!)
I'll see if I can find it again...
*grumble!*
...I have no idea where I read it specifically, but I know I did!
Quoted from the review: "Furthermore, the bugs and glitches that have reportedly plagued the PC and Xbox 360 titles don’t seem to be as big an issue in the PS3 version. Though we haven’t compared the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions ourselves, the publisher even tells us that Sacred 2 on PS3 is the superior looking game. Though still technically unsound in places, if you are thinking of picking up Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, then it’s the PS3 version that will do the game the most justice."

Been playing Deadly Creatures. It looks great for one thing, but it's a tad frustrating. I think I'm gonna be dropping the difficulty to normal. It's not that it's impossible or anything it's just destroying the pace of the game what with having to continue a few times per level, especially when you consider how slow those creepy crawlers walk!
Excluding the Scorpion's rush, but doing that repeatedly is like jacking off a reluctent elephant.

Woo hoo! E3 is nearly upon us. I can't wait to see Microsoft's conference tomorrow, should be a megaton in there, hopefully.
Anyway I just played Bionic Commando this weekend, well a few rounds of Gears of War 2 online multiplayer too. BC is a great game, a bit disappointed with the ending but it sure was a great ride. I'm playing through again on Hard difficulty and checking out the goodies I unlocked from playing BC: Rearmed on XBLA.
I also grabbed Gradius Rebirth and Majora's Mask for the VC but haven't played them yet. I'll probably pick up Punch-Out! for the Wii next weekend.
