To Sega's credit they had the better X-Men game. X-Men 2: Clone Wars was pretty great.

Holy fucking shitballs man...the Nippon Village in Xenoblade. This has to be the biggest town/village area I have ever seen in an RPG. Some entire games aren't this big! Its almost too much area without any human tits walking around.

The inside of the tree?

Yeah....fucking a that area is big...I haven't played the game in days and I'm scared to go back. lol

You will get used to it, break the tree down in little sections and go from there. I loved that area, the next one is big too.

That's funny, I didn't find it that big or intimidating. There's a celler, a roof, then you just go up in a linear fashion level by level.

Why didn't you get a NES?

Cost. When I bought my SMS, it was $60 brand new, and it came with two games (Hang-on / Safari Hunt), two controllers, and a lightgun. The cheapest NES console was $100 with no game and only one controller. Also most NES games were around $20-50 new. SMS games were around $10-20 new, and I often found used SMS games for $5 at pawn shops too. I got very lucky as shortly after I bought my SMS, a local toy store was going out of business, and I bought a bunch of SMS games from them for under $10 new. I only had a crappy part-time job at the time, so money was tight, but every payday, I'd run to that store (no car yet) and buy a two or three games. I had no idea if any of them were supposed to be good or not. No magazines reviewed SMS games, so I had to guess. Thankfully, most were awesome. I had collected around 30 SMS games, and I loved all of them, even the crappy ones. Nyaa.

THE SMS was demonstrably better than the NES technically.  It was even ahead of it's time by having a splash screen (wich hidden game) if you started the system without a cart in it.  Phantasy Star FTW.

Strider will come to Wii U 'if there's a demand for it'

I'm sure it's just me, but I really didn't like art style. It's basically just a less impressive version of the Marvel v Capcom 3 style (which I wasn't thrilled with the first time around). A nice pure 2-D artstye would have been nice. Oh well, I'm one Wii U owner who won't miss it much.

Yeah, that snail maze game was a cool little bonus game.

Phantasy Star was the first RPG I ever played, and  I didn't understand how to play it. I got past the first dungon, but didn't know where to go next, so I sold it. LOL

^ Married friend I used to work with and haven't spokne to in a while asked my opinion of the U. That's how I answered. Fair?

I would have asked him if his kids like Nintendo, if so, it's a no-brainer.  If finances are a concern and he wants to play himself, then... eesh.  Buy a PS4/XB1 for yourself and buy the new hamburger version of the Wii, put a U sticker on it and buy some games your kids have not played yet and tell them it's a Wii U.

I know it is an entirely gimped version, but if I saw one for $100 I'd HAVE TO GET IT.

I think the next area is one of the coolest locations in the game, only bettered by the area after-after-after that (I think)

I didn't find the three intimidating either, I didn't pay much notice.  All the places looked so samey I just didn't bother with much of the quests there.  But boy, did I regret it when I wanted to complete the Giant King's Thomb quest  Sad

Just to say a quick hello to everyone.  I don't have easy online access.  Should be more regular in another six weeks or so.  Hope everyone's been well.  Not much to report on my end.  Fulfilled a lifelong dream by visiting Detroit and witnessing some Tigers games (Cabrera is a god) ... and then Detroit filed for bankruptcy.
