It's not so much nostalgia as the fact that there is no shift in how the worlds in Pikmin are created.  You have rather low poly maps with flat textures, that are then livened up by placing high-poly plants, items and creatures on.  Sure, the textures might be higher res, and there may be some extra effects in place, but bottom line, it's the same strategy being applied to the level design and it'll look eerily similar, albeith in HD quality.  It's been 10 years, and all we get are higher resolution textures?  Ok, the water looks a lot better too, I'll give it that.

If they would have added stuff like soft moss for the characters to wade trough (think the fur and how it was animated in Star Fox Adventures), THAT would have drastically imroved the look of the game.

I am so upset.  Come back home from work to find nothing from the post.  There are two games I ordered close to a month ago which I still haven't received.  But what's making me real upset is not those two, but the fact that I haven't received Animal Crossing.  This was shipped two weeks ago.  Was supposed to take 4-5 days.  I'm leaving in the early hours of the morning and I will be away for the best part of the summer.  I was looking forward to playing it in airports, on planes, on trains, in hotel rooms etc etc.  This sucks.  Fuck zavvi and their cheap ass shipping practices.  I'm writing them an email to let them know they've pissed off a very good customer one time too many.
