Repairing, backwards compatabiltiy should be standard. Won't be. I blame digital distrubtion.
And when I say repairing old consoles I don't even mean for free. People are willing to pay.
Whilst there are are some good games on digital distribution, many, many titles are missing because some old ass company disappears and no one knows who owns the rights or some crap.

It's either I get to sleep tonight and struggle with Long Island traffic tomorrow to get it... and considering pre-orders come in special metal cases that easily get dented and dinged the longer they sit around a game store's counter... risk getting a less than perfect one...

I bite the bullet, lose sleep, grab it tonight and just head out tired tomorrow morning...
