i think the content that was cut was more to avoid a backlash from the sexist/chauvinistic elements in the game (grooming hostesses and running parlours for profit etc) not so much to cut costs.
we can't know unless we see their balance sheets but i cannot believe that simply translating it and releasing it in the west would be at a loss.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Okay, I'll drop it, but I don't think those were kept out for sensitivity issues. The hostess bars were as prevalent in the 2nd one, you worked at one admittedly -- not running one. But also you'll remember there was another type of club in the second one that addressed some peccadillos that one of the boss leaders had that would be much more sensitive that was left in.
It'll be interesting in how they do it. Maybe they just change your character attributes so he takes less damage -- that'd be pretty easy. Or diminish the number of grunts by 10% in shootouts. Could also scale back hit detection/ damage in vehicles.
No Zelda this year confirmed. At least that is what I think it means.

That's supposed to be a new feature? Just Cause 2 also has difficulty settings. You still fight enemies all the same, hardly any different to set less health/accuracy on enemies and/or tone down the AI in open world than in linear games. STALKER had settings too. If others didn't have them, they just chose not to. Nothing to do with being open world. There are probably linear games without settings as well, just can't think of any atm. Oh, Super Mario games.

:lol I totally missed the tiny GAF icon besides the newspiece.
Played some Lost Planet 2 multiplayer, great stuff. It was on a jungle level map. It looks great and plays great. The controls feel better then the first game. The matches ran very smoothly with a full set of 16 players. Definite purchase for me as soon as it comes out which is quickly approaching, can't wait.
Nice. I never clicked with the first game, but it's nice to hear that the sequel is a quality product.
Agreed. That should be labeled a rumor at best.
Edit: Fixed.
Holy shit Robio would be proud of this...boy? girl? dunno, hard to say.
First time R* open world.
The guy does just say he got an e-mail and that is all, no proof at all.
But everyone on gaf seems to believe him so that is good enough for me. He must be someone in the know.
Yeah that's an awesome costume. This is actually the type of costume I respect the hell out of. Completely original and put together extremely well. Links are pretty much a dime a dozen and are almost embarassing to do since they've been done so many times before. Link in Zora armor on the other hand. . . awesome.
