As Non-sensical as this was, at least it was something:

Do I play Street Fighter for the story? Well, yeah, kinda... It's nice to have something between the Title Screen and the End Credits other than the fight.

I'll forgive the drama queen jab solely for the reason that I --AM-- being dramatic because I had very high hopes for this game. I said it before, I'll say it again: It is fun --BUT-- it is VERY apparent --ALL-- the time went into character design and battle mechanics, with the assumption that the most popular modes would be the Online ones... This is not a good --SINGLE PLAYER-- game at all though; modes were just thrown together just for the sake of it.

As questionable as Subspace Emmisary was --AT LEAST-- the cut scenes where Sonic dashes in for the first time to save the day and you see him fighting beside Nintendo characters **in a time when this wasn't NEARLY as commonplace as it is now** was --VERY-- memorable and was a complete and utter fan-service to gamers who played through the Nintendo/Sega rivalry in the 90's... There's ---NOTHING--- like this in the current Smash on 3DS and very likely in the Wii U version either. It's just sad.

I am totally with you on this. I want all the extra modes, its fun. Iga bot is wrong.

I don't think there's any reason to worry about the online modes. Namco did this game afterall, and they're pretty damned great at online. And I'd much rather have a competent online mode than any story mode.

It certainly was something. One of the worst things I've played, in fact.

If Mario Kart didn't have the Grand Prixs you wouldn't have to play 50CC to pretend that you beat the game.

Leo, if you do not want to be called a drama queen stop acting like one.

Yes all the time went into characters and battle mechanics! It is a fighting game, characters and battle mechanics are what the game is supposed to be about. And there is single player content. Smash run is perfect for a handheld. 5 minutes adventure and you are done. Actually I prefer it to Subspace Emmissary because quite frankly Subspace Emissary was crap. I do miss the Adventure mode and Events of Melee though. The Event mode would be perfect for this!

Keep in mind that there are no cutscenes in this game, because there is not enough room in the 3ds cart to hold them.Brawl was a double layer DVD filled with cutscenes and music. I would be very surprised if the U version will not have cutscenes. Actually I expect all the character reveal trailers we have seen to be in the Wii U version!

If we set up a tournament here and there were more of us to participate, I would be fine with the game as it is. I never imagined there would be THIS little interest in a title like this here. I can see why they didn't release both the 3DS version and Wii U one together now though. Once the U one comes out, there will be absolutely no reason to own this one anymore. That's why they made it seem like the U version would barely make this holiday season and why the actual date was announced after the 3DS one was out already... I know more people own the 3DS than the U, but anyone interested in Smash likely has the U already and will switch exclusively to that one the first moment they can...

...provided they don't fuck up the online playability...

...again.

The 3DS version is there to save Smash. Let's face the facts, the Wii U console is a huge failure!

This makes no sense. If the game had no Grand Prix there would be no single player at all, it would just be random time trials and more terrible than it already is. These games need content for single player, good content.

It makes perfect sense. If Mario Kart didn't have Granx Prix mode, you wouldn't have to play something you hate, and then pretend you beat it when you only played a third of it. What exactly doesn't makese sense here?

Maybe you don't hate it? But that wasn't part of the first post.

Ummm... Igglie? Disagreeing about a videogame doesn't make someone a drama queeen. Calling someone else names over disagreements over a videogame though...

I'm glad you're starting to come around!

Ummm, yeah... This we know already. Are you confusing me with someone else?

Oh, Igglie... if you had a robotic soul to search, you would know what I am saying is true...  Sad

You were saying....

Dude you are emotional and making shit worse then they are. Capatilizing words, or making the words smaller and in a colour. First being positive about the game then suddenly beig negative. Both times emotional. You are acting like a diva. I am calling you a drama queen, because you are acting like one. And being offended by me calling you that, while at the same time calling me a soulless robot. Well that comes across as being hypocritical. Not that I am mad or anything, just pointing it out!

I never said Smash was perfect in single player mode. I have cirticisms. I do however object to your dramitized rant that the game has hardly any reason to play on your own. This is just not true. And complaining about the lack of story and motivation in a fighting game is just so foreign to me. Of all the things to complain, that would be on the bottom of my list!

Just explaining why the 3ds version is being made and why it is necassary.

Don't know how to respond to this...

**Hi! My name is Phantom_Leo, apparently we've never met before and something I've been doing for years, daily on this site is suddenly being noticed...**

Since this is the first time we've met, I feel the need to explain something to you:

**I'm the guy who ALWAYS tries to be positive about games, and then, after time, I start to notice flaws and my initial enamourment wears off...**

I would say "LET'S SETTLE THIS in FINAL DESTINATION!" but me being in America and you being on Skynet would probably make the connection lag...

**more!**

Not to shit on a point (even though that's exactly what I'm doing), but Smash was in development on the 3DS before the Wii U was even released. If anything Smash was there to save the 3DS which was still on shaky ground after its own weak launch year. So if we must argue, argue on fact.

I am not even sure what you trying to argue here? No one said anything about the situation in the past, we were talking about the situation now. Also you are ripping my quote out of context.
