This game is the gift that keeps on giving.  At the moment of speaking MK8 is in my WiiU, MK7 in my 3DSXL and MKDS in my DSXL and these are the last three games I have played.  Mostly MK8 though ... except for when I have to leave the living room Happy

Sunday mornings with a plate of fruit, cups of coffee and MK8 seem to have become my routine!  I love this game.  Can't remember the last time any game gave me such a nice feeling.  I didn't vote for a "game of the year" because I didn't feel strongly enough for any game back in January.  If I could vote now this would be the only option.

It seems to have also given me a newfound appreciation for MK7 on the 3DS (at least while I'm on the bog.)

I'm only sad most of you guys seem to have given up on this.  It's worth buying again IMHO.

Don't quite know why it is I like it so much.  And how come I like it even more now than when it was first released.  I can't articulate these feelings or explain them as well as you do.

I bought every MK game from the GBA one onwards mostly out of habit.  I wasn't ever crazy about anyone of them since the SNES one (which I loved as I have such fond memories of playing it with friends when I was much younger) and don't even think of myself as a fan of the series.  Not sure what it is about this one that strikes a chord with me.  I suppose I love the verticality and the roller coaster feeling the new courses have, as well as the smaller emphasis on the items and then randomness which makes the racing feel more fluent and thus makes it easier to get into.  But I don't know if those things alone would have such an effect.

I think you explained that pretty well!

My Sunday morning game used to be Street Fighter IV. I would often meet up with Robio online to play. That's the best thing about Sunday morning, you DON'T have to think that hard. You play games that don't make you think too hard. You just relax. No real need to articulate more than that. I understand completely.

I kick myself for selling my copy of MK 8. It was one of the last physical games I had, and when I decided to go all digital I sold it with the intention to repurchase it in the eShop with all the DLC once it went on sale. Silly me, Nintendo rarely discounts the good games. I think Pikmin 3 got its first sale all of 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Man that was fun. Next year I think I'll have a PS4 by the time SFV rolls out. We'll do it again.... though I'll quietly be bitter that they chose the same ugly ass art style.

I'd be playing 200cc (and online) right now if it weren't for Bayonetta 2...

That's one of my dozen or so U games still in the shrink-wrap.  What is B2's lasting value for you?  Just mastering the mechanics and getting higher ratings?

Plus trying to unlock all the items etc. (which require the higher ratings bit so it's really the same thing). The mechanics are so deep that I'm still discovering new little things all the time when using characters/equipment I'm comfortable with, and massive things when I try different weapons/characters, so it still feels incredibly fresh almost 50 hours in.

Your major problem with Bayo 1 was the superfluous BS like the space harrier level, right? There's still a few instances of that, but they're shorter and streamlined so they're not such a pain in the arse.

I don't get to game much these days Bugs, but if I see you on I'll put MK8 back in and meet you online.  Just keep an eye out for that blue blip on the Gamepad so you know I'm heading your way.  Also, due to kids I never get to game in the mornings, if you find me online, it'll be after 8pm (10pm UTC).

I've taken to playing a few rounds of MK8 online before going to bed every evening so far this week.  Usually arounf 11ish my time which is 10pm central european time.  Would love to play together if we are both on at the same time.  Problem is I have no idea when I have friends online with the WiiU unless I specifically look in the friends section

Yes, and also the fact that I got stuck on that stupid Space Harrier level.  When I keep dying at a section which I don't feel should even be in the game, it pisses me off massively.  I nearly gave up in Dead Space at that asteroid shooting section.

You should do okay with B2, then.

Another stupid OCD like situation I put myself in is I have to finish the previus games in a series (if I have them or if they are possible to obtain fairly easily) before I can move on to play the sequel or latest game.  This presents me with many obstacles as you can understand.

I never bothered with time trials in an MK game before but I started doing them with MK8 in order to learn the short-cuts etc.  Is it meant to be difficult to beat the ghost runs because some of them are quite easy?

While I've been on the Wii over the last few weeks I thought I'd give Mario Kart Wii (which I could never really get into in the first place) another try, at least to enjoy all the tracks a few times etc.  Very bad idea.  This game is unplayble.  It is so totally bad.  Probably the worst version of Mario Kart (at least in recent memory).  It looks awful (Wii game or no Wii game it looks appaling ... I seriously think Double Dash looks better than this).  Having 12 players on course constantly bombarding you with blue and red shells is really not my idea of fun.  Is it anyone else's?

There is no explaining just how good it feels to come back to Mario Kart 8.  This is the best Wii U game, the best Mario Kart and quite simply one of the best and most fun games ever made bar none.  It is worth buying not just a console for this but also a TV.

Splatoon ain't got shit coming!

Just checked sales figues.  The abortion that was Mario Kart Wii sold 36.5 m and the masterpiece that is Mario Kart 8 barely over 5 m.  The human race is full of sad bastards.

Look at it this way: the tie-in ratio for MK8 on WiiU is higher than that of MKWii on Wii!

Yep, it's probably 2:1 on the U.
