No Move controller.

That's not a good reason, I've played the 360 version with and without Kinect and while I liked the Kinect controls more... it's a completely different experience with a controller. The PS3 version is pretty good with or without move and it also supports the most helpful 3D mode I've ever seen (Not only it looks absolutely astonishing but it helps you notice which projectiles are closer to you).

They're both cheap and you should get it soon, I have a feeling that it's going to become rare in the future.

Good luck with that!  Wise to have used paypal.  Hopefully your CC details are not on some fraudster's harddisk

Yep, definitely wouldn't be giving Ubi the CC number.

^That is cool.

I forgot to mention that there were games I did not buy this weekend. Rayman: Origins for $22 (Cheap!) and Child of Eden for $14 (Cheap!).

That was the first time I can remember when I did not buy a noted game that was cheap. I just had a conversation with myself in the store about how I can never go beyond the first few levels of a 2D side scroller and that's it is pointless to buy a game I'll never finish even if it is 1) lauded and 2) cheap.

Pointless?

What about entertaining your friends?! Sad

Cool. Then I'll give it a try.

Have a few new games to report.  Strictly speaking I didn't buy them.  My best friend did, but he was kind enough to come around and punch his password in so I could download them from PSN on my PS3.  They're downloading as we speak:

  • Papo & Yo
  • Sound Shapes
  • Wipeout 2048
  • Where is my Heart
  • Rayman Origins
  • Motorstorm RC
  • Velocity
  • Super Stardust Delta
  • Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack

I may be the last guy to the party, but I still made it. . . I finally bought Borderlands. Played the first hour of it, and very unsure if I'm impressed or not yet.

You need to play it on co-op, otherwise... prepare to fall asleep.

Could be. So far it's combining my frustrations of FPS (I DIDN'T HIT HIM????) with my frustrations with RPG's (HOW AM I NOT DOING MORE DAMAGE????), and that's about it.

and there will be loads more frustrations (certainly of the RPG variety).  Too much useless clutter to sieve through and worry about.  Massive world that is mostly empty and all looks the same.  Almost identical missions over and over again ... tons of fun to be had.

Basically I really wanted to like the game because I love the style and the cel-shaded look.  I still do like those things but I don't think there is much chance of me getting into it.

I forgot to add that I got The Guild 2: Renaissance a couple weeks ago on Steam. I also bought Brutal legend today for cheap.

I bought a handful of games recently which I've been too lazy about declaring:

  • Alan Wake: American Nightmare (PC) - I think it was a Steam special
  • Adventures of Shuggy (PC) - A very retro looking platformer I'd never heard of which was on Steam for cheap
  • Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS) - After assurances about the controls from Leo, GG, Arch and Vader, I really want to play this
  • Metroid: Other M (Wii) - Filling some gaps in my Wii collection before games start to get rare
  • Wario Land: Shake It - Same as above, but I also want to play this despite the poor reviews due to the short length and lack of challenge.  Love the hand-drawn look of it.
  • Zen Pinball (3DS) - I wanted something to stop me from playing Mario Tannis every day.  I love real pinballs (in fact I own one though it's been in storage for many years now) but there hasn't been a pinball videogame which I liked yet (though I did play an awful lot of Pinball (NES) and Metroid Pinball).  Heard a lot of great things about this one (and the XBLA ones made by the same guys)
  • Super Meat Boy: Special Edition (PC) - hard copy
  • The Binding of Isaac: Unholy Edition (PC) - hard copy

Picked up The Last Story for $50 which is ironic as it'll be the last game I buy for the Wii. Also picked up New Super Mario Bros. 2 for $40 and the 360 version of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron for $60 which came with a free digital download of Transformers: War for Cybertron. Awesome! Grinning

Yeah I didn't even realise it until I got home and saw the sticker on the box. It's a Wal-mart deal.
