I think we all are, I still would like to see you guys. So I am thinking of going tank which is the most complex of the bunch and the leaders in raids. They are always in need which means no waiting for parties. I have no clue what I am doing, I will get many parties killed, and I refuse to talk to anyone. Should be great. Nyaa

Zelda Wind Waker is done, 100%. And now for a rant, but know I absolutely love this game, I played non stop all week, there is nothing like a Zelda game... well except other zeldas.

Wind Waker is so damn easy, it really is babies first zelda. Even in hero mode, after you get a few hearts there is no challenge there. The sad thing is the combat mechanics were really great and in certain room a smart mix of enemies creates one hell of a challenge. But 99% of the time Nintendo chose the stupidest mix of enemies where all you do is mash A or use the win item and beat everyone easy. How many caves do you enter that is just bokobilns, or some chu chus.

Then there are the dungeons, some of the easiest ones in the whole series. Plus this was the game that really went all out with the linear dungeon. OoT started it but some dungeons still had that maze feel, especially the water temple. Most dungeons there was a point where you had to think where to go. This game has none of them, except for two chests in each dungeon everything is basically laid out to you in one path.

The puzzles are mostly easy. Take the Earth temple, here you have an extra character to manage, you do puzzles with light which both of you can reflect. You can come up with all sorts of complex puzzles with that. But nooo most is the most easiest hit switch, stand here crap. The final room in that dungeon was looking like this grand complex puzzle room but the floor has marked paths and a spot where the statues with the mirrors are supposed to go, WTF. They dont even trust you enough to put the statues on the marked spots, you have a path where that is the only place you can push it. Its ridiculous. Oh and the booses, probably the worst in the series, all pushovers.

This damn game started the "easy zelda". Thankfully TP went all out in with way better dungeons, puzzles, bosses but sadly the combat remained in easy mode. That said anyone that thinks WW is better than TP is a CRAZY PERSON. One dungeon in TP, pick any of them, is more complex than anything in WW. Every boss, hell some of the subbosses are better than any boss in WW. Yes exploration in WW is magical and it is pretty, doesn't make it a great Zelda. As for SS vs WW, I said SS is the worst and its closer than I thought. WW does not have the highs of SS but it does not have the lows either. SS has moments I straight up dont like, I almost never dislike stuff in a zelda game, WW maybe easy and made me wish for more but I was never in a bad mood. Its enjoyable from start to finish. But SS has better dungeons and puzzles and a more interesting combat system.

Nintendo had a chance to really take WW and add some dungeons, actually change up the enemy placement. But they went for the easy remaster. Still a masterpiece but an easy one. I just hope the next console zelda is challenging.

Twilight Princess is no harder. Complexity does not equal challenge. The only boss I can remember from TP is Zant because of the story. At least I remember a few from TWW because they looked good. Twilight Princess is so crushingly redundant. Yuck. And hey, at least for 1% of the time the smarter mixes of enemies made the combat interesting, as opposed to in Twilight Princess where even the 50 floor dungeon of pure combat was a pisstake lol.

The 50 floor dungeon in WW is a million times worse. Its not even comparable. Everyones complaints about TP are so stupid, "oh its the same game" "oh I dont remember that" "its ugly". You dont remember the epic arbiters ground skeleton boss where you ride a railingup a tower. Incredible. The dragon on top of the sky temple. The giant yeti battle. The battle against the fake balrog. TP bosses aere amazing.

TP has actual puzzles that require THOUGHT. . Dungeons that actually require thinking to get through. Nevermind that there are way more of them and every single one of them is better than any in WW. Everything about TP is better except exploration, its the only think WW has over other Zeldas.

I'm not sure someone who needed to think to solve puzzles and get through dungeons in Twilight Princess is in a position to call complaints against Twilight Princess stupid...

I should replay Twilight Princess.  I remember it as being not a bad game, but rather an unmemorable one.  Sure, there are things about it I still recognize, but I don't think the alternative reality creatures blended well with the Zelda universe, and restoring colour to the world was tedious.

It could have been a great game, and while it had all the required pieces, they just didn't mesh for me.  I think a lot of it, to me, ended up too tainted by my dislike for the wolf bits and the design of the alternative reality creatures.

I personally think Twilight Princess was the best paced and designed game in the Zelda series in the 3d era.
My fav part was the mansion area where you had to do some snowboarding.

Agreed. It's the best 3D Zelda game, sure it's not the first with many concepts since all games are riffing off OOT but it's the most complete and well executed.

So I was flipping through the tv channels on Sunday and came across a movie called 1941 which I never heard of. A comedy, directed by Steven Spielburg with John Candy and James? Belushi.

Anyone seen this? I only caught a few minutes from midway, worth renting?

I saw that many many years ago. I know people who swear by it and say that it is very funny but to be honest I thought it was pretty unmemorable. Nothing real great about it. I don't think you're missing out by not watching it.

Thanks.

We need to have some MK8 matches this week, don't think I've played any of you guys last week.

that can be arranged. I still play the game daily. And now that I have finished Shovel Knight and Guacameele I will probably be playing a lot more of it.

I'd be up for some Mario Kart, but it'd have to be either this evening or tomorrow evening, or not before next week.  This the last week before everyone leaves for summer holliday, and I am predicting things to be very very busy for me for the next couple of days.

Also, since nobody answered me in the MK8 topic: do all racers 'hop' in their carts when you honk?  I'm thinking that it can't be a glitch, but it isn't properly animated either, and just looks rather absurd...

Edgecrusher, you can't complete the 50cc and call MK8 completed. That goes for Vader too, tons of new carts, characters and customisations unlock on higher difficulties. And 50cc is for pussies.

For me personally the bosses in OoT blow away anything TP could offer.  The Witch Sisters, Bongo-Bongo, that red dragon, Dodongo, ...  TP just can't touch any of those.  You can say what you want about the bosses in WW being too easy, but they had that same level of spectacle about them as those in OoT.  And the lesser said about SS, the better.  The Grihahim battles were superb, the gold robot was fun, but all the rest was horrible.
