Finished it. Good game, only real problem is the slight lack of identity, feels like a lot of other games. Indoor areas were strangely ugly compared to outdoor.
Started LA Noire, ewwww ugly game. And awkward, awkward, awkward. Controls are a mess all around but it's interesting nonetheless. The face animation doesn't blow me away. Sometimes it looks really good but most of the time just eh. It doesn't help when everything is so low detail. Game seems to be just as memorable for its awkwardness as anything else. Would it kill them to have on screen prompts when searching a cutscene?

I am hard pressed to recall a time when an announcement has left me more disappointed than this.
I started playing The Last of Us again. I just reached the part where Ellie hunts a deer. Now I remember why I stopped playing this game back in June: It's too fucking intense! The most nerve-wracking game I have ever played.
Awesome, though. I'm going to finish it this weekend for sure.
I think bugs is referring to how Miyamoto seems to be implying that their producers are capable of ''preserving' the Nintendo touch to their established franchises, instead of them being talented enough to take those same franchises somewhere new.
So having trust in your producers to be able to do their job without you checking every minute detail implies that the franchises are stale? That is so high level mental gymnastics, right there.
What is actually says is that people like Anouma and Koizumi are competent enough to work independently. Miyamoto is there just for the big things, all the details are left to them. Also Miyamoto has final responsibility. It says nothing about franchises being stale or not. It just says that Miyamoto is less and less hands-on with games.

Fucking Crystal Dynamics have been coming into their own and could make an incredible Kain at this point but nnooooooo.....
Unless LA Noires story is amazing it's going to end up as one of the most overated games I've ever played.
