Absolutely, the city to me was like a BMX bike circuit, you sort of floated around on top of it but never really got any kind of depth from it. It was an elaborate set that was super simple to skim over. I preferred the smaller, denser but better designed world of the original.

I had an awesome weekend, put the wii in my bedroom with the other legacy consoles and booted it up for the first time in forever. Planned on 10 minutes of Rhythm Heaven and ended up playing over 2 and a half hours of it. Love these games. And I started playing around with it, went to the SD card channel and discovered all my VC titles, how awesome is the VC? Literally all these classic games, no one else is doing this, I have a great collection of titles, Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Super Mario World, Streets of Rage etc etc.

I beat Ghiram on Skyward Sword, I was stuck at him before, booted up the game for the first time since dec 2011 (save file said so) and beat him first time. Any tips for Demise?

I have unfinished business on Wii, need to beat the final boss on LKS, Lorithia on Xenoblade and need to polish off Radiant Dawn. Great system though, probably my favourite ever system, so many eclectic games and innovative gameplay and controller use.

So true about the Wii.  For weeks now I've been thinking about starting some tribute threads for it, to make lists of best games, best 3rd party games, best Wiiware, best VC games etc.  I have a great deal of unfinished business on Wii.

Nice ligthing and frame rate but the environment detail is absurdly low for a next gen game. Where's Archie BTW?

I was just playing around with menus and it still felt so innovative having ignored it for well over a year. Just being able to point, I went to photo channel and was drawing on the screen with such accuracy I could sign my name. Then on the menu I was pinching A and B to grab and move tiles, clicking plus and minus to flip pages. Booting up Genesis games and just flipping the remote horizontally. I was throwing bombs under arm in Zelda, pulling back my bow with the nunchuk, slicing and dicing in all directions with motionplus. Shame the graphics are the only real problem, it has some great games. And I could even throw in some GC discs and start playing, no problem. Funny that backwards compatibility is almost a luxury these days. And the system is less than half the size/weight of the giant Xbox 1 sitting next to it on the shelf and has equivalent/better visuals.

As a longtime Harvest Moon fan I know I was supposed to be really excited for Hometown Story... but I'm just not. Maybe it's because the graphics looked like they were for a DS rather than a 3DS. Maybe it's because it just looks too similar to Harvest Moon. But probably it's because the narrator was reading his script like he was talking to a 5 year old.

This and that...  Bit of NSMBU, bit of Bioshock, a few shmups on 360 like Sine Mora, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun, tried some Zelda Link's Awakening on 3DS VC, close to finishing Luigi's Mansion.  Haven't been able to concentrate on one thing for any length of time.

Waiting for Animal Crossing New Leaf to ship.
