No you did not miss anything. I was going to post it last week, but some shit got in the way and some other shit exploded out and then I forgot.
Shit exploded out, yikes.
This game looks so awesome...definitely my kind of software. Highly looking forward to it. Reminds me of the mighty THIEF.
Being a huge fan of Stealth and exploration games, I've been starving for more stuff like this over this entire generation of hardware. Why everybody only wants straight up fucking action games all the time nowadays, I have no idea.
Hell yes.
^The fuck?
VERY Happy about the Spelunky Review scores!
Yea it got some great reviews ! It might be too frustrating for someone like me. I'm thinking about buying it or waiting until Deadlight...
If only it happened to GG instead of Iga.
Ultimately I could not hang with Bayonetta. Having the PS3 cut out the graphics, while continuing to run the game in every other way gave me an excuse to stop playing.
So now, I'm three hours into Kingdom Hearts. It's the first time I've played it. So far it's a pretty standard action RPG typical of the era. Nothing too bad, other than the unskippable cutscenes.
I read the entire Eurogamer review. Dude was quite effusive about it wasn't he?
I like the look of it, reminds me a lot of Commodore 64 games.
So who should buy Activision? Smart of Vivendi to sell it now, given that WoW has capped out and the whole future of that model (and gaming in general) is in question. Just running through the companies that have that kind of money piled up in the corner:
Microsoft has been on a buying spree lately. They'd clearly be the closest fit being that they have the money as well as the cultural understanding of what Activision/Blizzard does. I don't see it though.
Disney? They have the money. But they seem to be far down the casual road having not enjoyed their daliance with core gaming.
I can't see the Japanese being interested. Perhaps Sony if they see their gaming future as being the West. But they have enough troubles right now. Square doesn't have the money, or it would make sense. They seem to have been quite happy with how Eidos is working for them. Nintendo, of course, would have no interest.
Apple has no interest in core gaming, at least that's what Tim Cook said last month. Apple also doesn't make large aquisitions like this.
None of the regular media companies would want it.
So maybe they are left with institutional buyers.
Vivendi bought in at $9.8 billion, so they'll be doing well (given the money they have made from the division since 2008 ) if they can get a buyer at $8 billion.
EA and Activision merge to become a super asshole company.
I know you are joking, but yeah, EA doesn't have the money for that. They have about $ 1.5 billion in reserves right now.
IGN's Worst Games of 2012 So Far...
Orion: Dino Beatdown
Just the title makes me want this game. Dino beatdown? Fuck yeah.
You can't have a super asshole company unless Capcom is involved.
There is no filtering, they are the same screens Nintendo said no improvement but 9/10 people think the games look better and that there is some sort of filter which Nintendo have already said does not exist. It's voodoo magic at work.
I need to see this thing in person. However I was playing RE over the weekend and TBH the original's screens are big enough as they are.
Pretty cool:
Mighty Switch Force HD Headed To Wii U With Redesigned Sprites
WayForward Technologies are bringing their first Nintendo 3DS game, Mighty Switch Force, to the Wii U as an eShop download. Nintendo Power magazine has the first details on Mighty Switch Force HD, along with the first screenshot.
If that looks a little different from the 3DS version of Mighty Switch Force, it’s because Mighty Switch Force HD has redrawn sprites and WayForward are brainstorming new features for it as well. Here’s a comparison of the sprites from the 3DS (left) and Wii U (right) versions
Mighty Switch Force HD will be ready for the Wii U launch. WayForward also confirm that they’re working on more download games for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.
And they are going to be doing more dual releases. Shantae HD?
