I am about 85% positive the original characters (Mallow) created for that game are Square's intellectual property.Nintendo is putting Square characters in Super Smash Bros. U
I thought Mallow and that puppet character still had cameos in Paper Mario and that was at a time when Square and Nintendo weren't talking.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Earthbound kids exchanged for TWEWY kids.
That's strange. I don't remember them in Paper Mario. But then again that may be to do with the fact that I played Mario RPG after The Thousand Year Door and Paper Mario

Okay seems I was wrong. Square does in fact own the rights to most of the Super Mario RPG original elements. Mallow and Geno have appeared in other games Mario RPG type games (Superstar Saga and Paper Mario), but get credited to Square (or S-E) in the end credits of whatever games they appear in as the copyright holder.
That being said, I really could give a crap if those two characters ever appeared again. I think Nintendo's done just fine without their inclusion. I'm still hoping for SE characters in a different game.
Oh to be clear they're not really major cameos. They show up as dolls or figures in the background. Very easy to miss them if you're not looking.
Damn, I still need to finish Paper Mario TTYD.

Project Cars going to consoles makes me question how much of a sim it will really be. If it is a proper racing sim then this will be the first time a console has had one...not including the earliest racing sims.

My problems with Nintendo are: requiring 6000 unit sales before payment, a certification process that took us 9 months and a 40mb limit
