Yikes! That reminds me of this horrible credit company that I took a job from and then later quit a week later. They specialized in providing credit cards to people with horrendous credit so the lowest APR they offered was around 25%. Ultimately they seemed more like loan sharks than a credit company, and that theory was only enforced when I learned the name of the company's founder... Rocco. Rocco Abessinio. Doesn't sound like a loanshark or mob name at all huh?
Take note gamer petitions: unless you're a publisher or developers your petitions don't mean shit.![Nyaa](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)
Just give up on Shenmue.
I never had a problem with downloading games on my PSP. It always seems to go fast (for my crappy 2Mbit connection). I don't see why it would tell you you don't have enough space for an 600 MB download when you've cleared a 2GB stick just earlier though. The downloaded update shouldn't be so huge and you could have just deleted that after anyway, instead of clear music. It doesn't auto delete the install file, it remains on the game/app launch menu and you can delete from there. I only have a 2GB stick also so I switch stuff around often and never encountered much trouble. It's pretty painless most of the time. Auto login, buy, download, install (auto), done. Little difference from Wii really. Maybe something else was hogging your connection? PC torrents? Video streaming? Porn? All console services require you to have the latest firmware/update for that, and that's fairly painless also most of the time, a mostly automatic process also. PSP does ask for the charger though.
Why didn't you just keep it plugged since you turned it on and during the update download? You couldn't play without almost any power anyway, even if everything else had gone smoothly. I mean, the battery doesn't last very long... You didn't fully charge it and then left it there downloading and draining it again with the Wi-Fi etc.
My main issue is that it doesn't even have any screenshots, just a cover and PR text that often doesn't even describe the gameplay beyond a vague genre (and then talk about how awesome, exciting or whatever it is), to be certain it's the game you want. But that's mostly how it is everywhere, except on PC with services like Steam, which includes the metacritic rating, screenshots and trailers on the store pages, and comprehensive feature lists. But that's also because on PC they have a fully featured browser to supply content with. I would like something like that for consoles. Maybe an integration of the Shop and Ninteno channels for Nintendo's case, so you can see the game and description, click to watch trailers and other promos, see the average play time, etc, without having to load a different channel and search for the title all over again, then go back to purchase it.

while the pessimist fears this is true.

They don't let you do the update if you have low battery -- even if you are plugged into the wall. I guess they think you might unplug it, then the battery will give out and if the system is turned off during an update -- bricked unit.
I understand why they do it, but I don't have to like it.
I did not delete the update as I was keeping it on the stick so I could put it in my other PSP and update it without having to go through the download.
As for why it's still downloading the ~500 MB -- I have not idea why it's so slow, I have it right near the router and ordinarily my internet connection isn't THAT slow. Downloading from Sony, even with my PS3 is always slow.
Funny thing is, I already have Yggdra Union on the GBA -- and never bothered to open it![LOL](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Fixing to set up my ps3 again after at least a couple of months to get ready for our gaming club Darkstalkers. I am dreading the hours of updates ahead of me

How the hell did I not know about this site before? Can't wait to see what games they have when it's back up and running. Crossing my fingers for Gold Rush! (please note the exclaimation point at the end is the proper name of the title, not my over exhuberance for the game)
The Bulletstorm demo is awesome! I'm sure I'll buy it...when it gets down to hobo levels.
silly blizzard just because you can't make hood games anymoore doesn't mean they have to suck the fun out of it for gamers.
@foolz i gave up on shenmue years ago at this point i am hoping that sega remake 1 and 2 for the ps3 in HDness
Played a bit of the Crysis 2 MP demo. I guess the CoD fanbase will love it.
I hooked up my Atari 2600 to my HDTV this morning, and to my surprise, it worked!
I assumed it would not work, especially considering the Atari only has an RF output. It actually looks pretty good too, after some minor brightness/color adjustments. No noticable lag issues either. ![Grinning](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

I saw some of that. Good god, talk about CHOKING.
I wonder if I'm a little retarded. I just finished up Valkyria Chronicles earlier this morning. Love the game and highly recommend it, but for the past two weeks it was starting to kill me. I just wanted it to end so that I could move on to something new. So what did I do? I went out and downloaded one of the expansions for iit.
Since finishing the INCREDIBLE Bayonetta, I have been finding it difficult to play anything that ISN'T amazing. Bayonetta set a new bar for gameplay and design and I'm kinda finding everything else falling flat!

I tried playing:
Vanquish. Didn't like it as much as Bayonetta.
Phantasy Star Universe. Brought back great (Sega) memories, but it feels quite dated --AND--
It is MISSING the Single-Player content in the Illuminus sequel both the PS2 and PC have. No Story continuation,
No Classic Bosses for me! VERY DISAPPOINTING. Gave up on it... Damn good thing I didn't have to pay for the Add-On!
Settled for playing Fable 3. Still feeling kinda melancholy, but at least THIS is the kind of game I will FINISH!

What have you Gents been playing this weekend?
If you have a good stereo set-up connected to your TV plug in Space Invaders and pump the bass way up. It's transcendant.
Leo, you've got the post-good-game blues. I know it well. Don't go on a binge, take a break or better yet play a game for which you have very low expectations.
No new games for me this week, just plugging away at FF6 and DQ5 (23 and 12 hours respectively). Keep the plate clear for Darksiders.
Watched Mrs. Aspro beat yakuza this weekend. Foolz, I'd certainly suggest it to you, it holds up way better than I had thought. She has started Yakuza 2 immediately after (I had to wait 4 years).
All right so as far as my gaming habits this week, VC is finally done. I also knocked out the first expansion mission. At $5 it was not worth it. Maybe the others will be better, but I'll hold off for a while. And since we've got the Darksiders group play I've pretty much kept it light. So it's been a lot of the classic Namco games (I've become a god of Dig-Dug), and I've also downloaded the trial for the original Little Big Planet. I'm debating it... only debating it mind you. It was fun, but I'm still not sure I want to pay $25 for it.
