Wow, so I wanted to go to speedtest.net to check on my shitty connection which is suppossed to be upgraded and they said there would be intermittent connection for 10 days, its been about 7 or so.
And.... the connection is so slow I couldn't even load speedtest.net.
YES
And all this is because they are forcing an upgrade and forcing a payment because for one month the DL limit was exceeded. After a month, apparently you can drop back down to free internet, so 10 days of bullshit, a month of supposedly higher speeds for nothing.
Yeah pretty much. Well that and Leo & Ernesto.
So speaking of that, the Data East Collection has so far been a classic example of one game selling a collection. I've gone through about half the games on it and most are fairly painful to play outside of Burger Time (which is still worth the $20 alone). There was one nice surprise though, and that's the game Wizard Fire. Turns out, that was actually a Golden Axe inspired brawler I used to enjoy called Dark Seal II. So I was kind of geared up to play that. . . unfortunately it's one of those games that had not aged well at all. So sad.
Hey Capcom fans, there is a pretty decent Capcom USA interview here
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/4291/careful_capcom_christian_.php?page=1
It's from my old buddy Christian Svensson, and talks about Streetfighter IV, Dark void, Bionic Commando, US/Japan relations, Lost planet and monster hunter.
Fawful and The Dark Star were vanquished in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
Lasarovich (or whatever his name was) got the Yeti Beatdown in Uncharted 2.
...I give the ending a Four... maybe a Five.
Oooooo, Halo Reach "MP bomb" today. How exciting! I wonder what it could be.
You mean that Infinity Ward news is actually real? Woah.
I don't get the Tim Schaffer comment at the end though. If the heads of IW were doing something very shady that would warrent this kind of action, how could Activision's response be anything other than reasonable?
Do we know that we should side with Activision yet? Insubordination?
It is too soon, but if I had to pick a side I'd go with Activision at the moment. I'd say about 90% of the time when you're the head of a company you have numerous items in your contract that dictate that certain guidelines have to be followed in the event that you're fired. If what the article says about an investigation and the way these guys were asked to leave is true, its pretty safe to say that they did something naughty.
On the low end it could be as simple as they were in talks to go to another company and Activision found out, overreacted as per usual and beat them to the punch. On the other side of things it could be more serious like selling off code or an engine. With a lawsuit filed I'm more prone to think its something serious.
Well gentlemen, its my girlfriend and I's 1-year anniversary today. Goin out to a nice dinner tonight, then we'll come back to my place and, well, ya know....
*high-fives*
Dog!
Duh. I've been saying for a couple years now. I don't expect any new consoles until 2014 at the earliest. Apparently, Pachter has been listening. Too bad he and I disagree about Wii HD. I don't see that coming out any earlier than the rest. Nintendo will milk the Wii for as long as possible, and if anyone knows how to milk a console, it's Nintendo.
Please explain this with examples from the past!
Yay!
Gameboy.
Handhelds I agree, but they suck at doing it with consoles. They also did not do it with the GBA either. Man they killed that one fast.
Fixed that for you!
They also did so with the NES. The Famicom came out in 1983, and the Super Famicom came out in 1990, so they they managed to milk that console for just over 7 years. And they continued to release games for it long into the SNES/Super Famicom's lifespan as well.
LOL took me a long time to find that fix. Got to admit Natal's promise as a DVD browser certainly is appealing
Damn straight the casuals would love to be finally able to watch DVD. A market that is dominated by hardcore, because casuals find all these buttons on the DVD remote confusing. It will send 4 gazzilion.
