Not to say I told you so, but back in June I made a prediction that EA Sports Active would be a monster seller.  And I was right.  Now all of you bow down to my superior wisdom.

Um, in value turms it's much cheaper. But its the DS game, or more accurately the gba game, blown up on the big screen (read the IGN review) with no enhancements or modifications. It's preferable to get it on DS. Also like Iga said Capcom are putting out the 5th epic case of the DS game as additional content i.e more money for DLC. The 5th case of PW1 was only on the DS version, hence why they seperate it and it's so epic its about as long as several other cases put together.

Also you will get PW 1, 2 and 3 as they are gba ports, but 4 and Miles Edgeworth will stay on DS only for a long time.

Frankly I don't really think the game needs much in the way of enhancements.  Phoenix is a game where story is king.  Everything else is an incidental.  I won't disagree with those who say it was a lazy port, but at the end of the day it's no worse because of it.

Personally I'm happy that the 5th case is getting its own release.  That's the only one I wasn't able to complete so I'm happy to get the opportunity to buy that one on its own instead of having to purchase the full game, and be forced to play through all of them just to get to the final one.

And if I just spread a little love for this series one more time, if you haven't played it get it now.  The PW trilogy is remarkable, particularly if you play all the way through.  There's a story that gets woven between all of the games and it all comes to a head in the final chapter of the 3rd game and it's just amazing to watch it play out.  WIthout a doubt it's the most satisfying end to a story that I've ever come across in a video game.

Correct that is her name.  I no longer own the domain where I had her old pictures hosted so I'm afraid you're out of luck today.

The WiiWare release is the gba game though with no frills. And what I mean is that it's a game made for a 3 inch screen that will no doubt be plastered across Edgecrushers 40" TV. H-fucking-D TV which will make it look even worse.

It's a good thing it's cheap.

Lot of good news today. Whoever is doing updates, nicely done.

That story about Sonic defending younger gamers is a complete load of crap (quite entertaining though).  I think the one little quote sums it all up.

SEGA has stated that one Sonic game cannot please all fans

To that I say BULLSHIT.  The original 2-D Sonic games appealed to virtually all ages.  I have two kids, ages 10 and 3 who both enjoy them, and at age 32 I still enjoy them. Plus, Mario doesn't seem to have trouble appealing to all ages.  Sonic could do it too, they just need to make good games with him again.  Pretty simple formula in that respect.

In fact, Nintendo's utter software dominance becomes manifest when we combine our software sales estimates for all platform stakeholders, including Microsoft and Sony, during the last quarter of 2009.

With Sony claiming an estimated 22% (across three platforms) and Microsoft 20% (with only the Xbox 360), the remaining 58% of all software units we estimate were sold for Nintendo's console and handheld.

4Q09-software-unit-dist.png

Perhaps the bigger story that we perceive in our estimates is that Nintendo Wii has finally overtaken Microsoft's Xbox 360 in life-to-date sales.

Recall that the Xbox 360 launched a year prior to both the Wii and PlayStation 3. With that headstart Microsoft has often touted its strong record in selling a high number of units of software per system owner (also known as a tie ratio). According to Microsoft's latest press release on Xbox 360 sales, the system now has a tie ratio of 8.8, suggesting LTD software sales of 164 million units after 50 months on the market.

While the Nintendo Wii has historically had a lower tie ratio, even when sales were launch-aligned, the system's extraordinary hardware sales have yielded similarly strong overall software sales. According to our estimates, the Wii has now sold in excess of 175 million units of software in a mere 38 months.

After 38 months on the market (December 200Cool, the Xbox 360 had achieved software sales of around 112 million units.

The diagram below makes clear just how the Wii has achieved this feat. With annual software unit sales tens of millions of units above the competition, it was merely a matter of time before the Wii surpassed Microsoft's console.

estimated-annual-sw-units-big-three.png

Again, going by our own estimates, we believe the PlayStation 3 is closing in on LTD sales of 75 million units of software. This suggests total Wii software sales exceeded PS3 sales by 100 million units in the same period of time

I hope people are reading this shit. Once you cut out the PR, media and fanboy BS and look at the numbers, it's telling.

It's a wonder Sonic even has younger fans Nyaa

New extended trailer for this looks schweet

Zangeki no Reginleiv Thread: Let's hope it's not crap because it looks awesome

Not only does motionplus react as fast as your swings - I mean in the video it shows one of the demi-gods slicing this fat bastard up - there is IR aiming in there. There is a laser staff one of the characters uses to melt someone's arm. There's a machine gun like staff and then a Robocop style lock on where you point to multiple enemies via IR then unleash a barrage of godly arrows at them. And then there is some sniper/cannon weapon.

And the woman was hacking into some huge flying fortress above her head.

The trailer also shows off the 4 player online co-op.

Wii repair: There's something strange... in the neighbourhood

So something weird is going on, I have a launch wii with a defective red and green dot gpu problem.

It's out of warranty so I sent it in for repair. They charge around $55 for a minor fault and around $130 for a major fault.

So they send me a pre-paid label to post the Wii off. I sent it off 8 days ago.

I log into this online repair tracking thing and they open it, check it and list it as a minor fault.

So I guess it should cost $55? According to the FAQ they ask for payment and then IF you choose to pay for it they return it. If not they send it back unrepaired.

So next to minor fault on the tracking system it says

Wii Minor Fault (£0.00) : Operating System Scrambled Graphics

So what? They aren't charging for this? So they get the machine on the 18th. They open, inspect it and today I check the tracking for the 20th and it says:

20/1/10

Repair completed

Despatched

So they just repaired it without asking for payment and managed to dispatch it back? This is too good to be true. Now I wonder if my saves are intact and if they will harass me for payment at a later date?

Zelda Wii info rumour:

The game will be vary from the dungeon field dungeon method we are accustomed too (nothing new, Eiji Aonuma confirmed that last year).

You will be able to select right or left handed at the start, and Link will be left or right handed based on your selection

The gameplay and basic mechanics are complete.

They are currently polishing up the story and Characters.

One of the characters they are working on is a innkeeper in Link's home village who has a son that looks up to Link.

The girl in the art is not the Master Sword, and it appears the Master Sword will not be in the game.

The girls name from the painting could possibly be Adelle, Adella, or Aderu.

She is not with you throughout the game like Ezlo and Midna.

The face in the painting of her is not her real face. It's not fully elaborated on much, but it does say that it was a place holder concept art piece.(assuming the entire art itself was just concept work)

Link's sword is highly unique in this game, and will have several unlockable abilities. Adelle (or whatever her final name becomes) communicates with you through this sword.

There will be horseback combat. Epona will avoid obstacles automatically.

The models for 3 significant characters in the game have been touched up, but no they are not Zelda or Ganondorf. (google translate gives rough names of Link, Gorons, and Epona, but our translator said it's not specifically mentioned)

The idea of this version of Link also being The Hero of Time has been highly considered, and may already be implemented.

Time travel plays a roll in the game.

The game takes place in more than just Hyrule, and may possibly not be Hyrule at all.

I love Babelfish

Farmhouse Effect 3: officially on Xbox 360 Après a first just divine episode and a second who s' announces also good if not better, the saga Mass Effect will have great chances to finish on this generation (at least this trilogy) since the person in charge of the series (casey Hudson) has aujourd' today assured that Mass Effect 3 will leave Xbox 360 of course, and with all the blows on PC.

Anyone looking forward to Farmhouse Effect 3? I smell a Harvest Moon subtitle. A first and just, divine episode. Happy

So now there are three covers... I think the EU still gets the best one.  The US one will sell more though.
