Problem with that tactic is that for any game to be a big hit (million seller) it has to get bought by more than just people like us that bother to read videogame news and discuss it. The portion of the audience that really makes a game successful doesn't bother with this and will never know if it's a test.
Or it could be that GVG is a UK based site, and they are reporting the EU launch date? And the EU wiiware, VC always takes place on Friday!
And the awesome part is, if we past the test, we get another motherfucking on-rails shooter. For example see Capcom.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
You should know by now that EU get their releases on Friday. You will probably get it Mondays.
What?! You never bought the other two Primes? Wait, did your hobo instincts kick in and warn you that they were going to make a Trilogy set? Dammit, why did you not tell the rest of us?
Actually I can't remember why I didn't get Prime 2. For Prime 3 I was kind of hoping to get it at a discount since I got the Wii several months after launch and by time I got caught up with Mario Galaxy, Zelda TP, and Brawl the game had been out for nearly a year. Eventually though I heard of this Trilogy so the rest was history.
i guess what i'm saying in relation to gaming is, i'm just really happy there is an indie development scene and i'm really happy games like those on that list are being made. i just hope it's worth the while of those developers. i'm very excited about the new breed of indie developers. usually teams just 2-3 people strong, maybe not even doing it full time. i guess the downloadable outlets are making all this possible. they are doing away with the necessity of the middle-man (publishers). this revolution has already been successful in the music industry which is a completely different planet from back when 2-3 big bastard companies called all the shots and made filthy profits on the backs of both the consumers and the artists themselves. i hope the same thing happens in gaming too.
even though that list is depressing, i sort of understand why those games sell so little (although it is very uplifting to see an indie game do well once in a blue moon), it's not their fault, it's the nature of the consumers, most just don't get it (there i said it). i just hope the videogame industry has a place for indie developers making these great games

The story didn't say whether the Friday launch was region specific, so get off my case Big Daddy!
It has a place. PC is its platform, and it will never let you down on it, provided you are willing to commit yourself to it. The so-called indie console scene is to PC indie devs what MTV is to the 200 copies-pressed bands you were talking about.
Oh, man! I better rush out and buy a $170 game console today! I don't want to lose a measly $10!
Seriously, WTF, Nintendo?
EA: No more Mature Wii games from us, if Dead Space Extraction fails.
I hate ultimatums even more than I hate rail-shooters. EA, and every other company that threatens Wii owners, can suck my left nut.
That boss in the Darkside Chronicles video looks insanely detailed.
I'm sure someone will appreciate the throbbing veins.
i accept that, and i understand your analogy. that's a very good point. i confess slight ignorance of the PC scene on anything which - let's say - is too indie to show up on Steam

Edit: That was for GG.
me neither. what's more, i hope that's also a test. and i hope it sells a lot less than umbrella so that both capcom and EA get it through their thick skulls that on-rails spin-offs of their franchises are not worthy hardcore offerings (or that the wii hardcore audience is not worthy of their "hardcore efforts"
)

We already passed the test, twice with Capcom and Darkside Chronicles is the reward. Of course Svensson tried to BS us a while ago saying that Monster Hunter 3 was the reward, unfortuntely for him the official reasons for MH3 switching platform had nothing to do with his ports and were know well beforehand.
If these games fail they wont get any message about on rails, they'll just say people dont want hardcore games and they wont make them. Catch 22.
