From import reviews and impressions its a 9/10 game and looks pretty good. However after reading the Destructoid review, despite the great review the character set they've chosen is so unbelievably niche they practically suicided the game at retail. How am I suppossed to be interested in obscure 70s Japanese cartoon characters or side characters from Capcom games?
What did you think of HL2s ending?
Yodariquo is questioning your sexuality.
I've been playing Animal Crossing, nice meeting up with Angry Monkey and Dvader. Makes a change from Shanti (love Shanti but variety is the spice of life).
And hell, Rhythm Heaven. This game is SO awesome, really guys check out the thread.
Check out this video for one of the games
It goes through the tutorial first then starts proper from 2 minutes 44 seconds.
The music is muffled in that video but listen to the real stuff

Er...... Bethesda are making several Wii games? And not kiddie game trash?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Bethesda next to target mature Wii market
Fallout and Oblivion publisher Bethesda has told GamesIndustry.biz that it plans to target the market for mature games on Nintendo's Wii, with at least one big release to be announced later this year.
Sega has already targeted the Wii with two 18-rated titles – MadWorld and House of the Dead: Overkill – with rival Electronic Arts also hoping to carve an adult niche on the home console with a squeaky-clean reputation.
"We are going to make an announcement on a really big Wii game this year, we've got a couple of other things in the pipeline, and it's a format we're really looking at with the right approach," revealed Sean Brennan, managing director for Bethesda in Europe, in an exclusive interview published today.
"I've got consoles at home but I wouldn't sit and play an 18-rated game with my family on the Wii," he said. "Is there space in the Wii market for that? I think there is, but again, it's all about finding out how big that is. Is it 5 per cent? If it's five per cent of the market and you can own that space it's worth doing because you can achieve volume. If you can't own it at five per cent, it's not worth doing, quite frankly," he added.
Brennan said that the company isn't going to announce a dedicated label for the Wii as some of its rivals have, and it isn't about to churn out sugar-sweet titles for the tween market.
"We're not going to establish a new range and call if 'My Girly Game Range' or whatever these other companies are doing, it's so me-too and boring.
"Looking at the opportunities in the Nintendo space is interesting for us because it's more driven by getting the right product for the demographic and also the right quality. We're not going to do a hamster simulator, it's not us. We're not going to produce games for girls or pet-sim products. There's nothing to distinguish them from one another," he said.
Sega's success with MadWorld – which only entered the charts at 34 on its first week of release – and House of the Dead: Overkill, has been marginal on a console considered to be family-friendly and awash with casual titles.
As well as Bethesda, Electronic Arts has its eyes set on capturing a more mature audience on the Wii, with the company's Glen Schofield confident the upcoming release of Dead Space: Extraction can sell well even if it only gels with a small percentage of the 50 million installed base.
Bethesda also sees the opportunity with a console that is leaving its home rivals behind. Only a handful of publishers are really making a success in the Wii's casual market, and Brennan believes that the idea of establishing a mature business on the machine isn't just the latest bandwagon.
"We have huge respect for the Nintendo platforms, and from a marketing perspective globally they've been phenomenal. It would be churlish to ignore that space," he admitted.
"It was a problem with the DS space as well, because as soon as you spot the bandwagon, it's already too late. People don't get that. There are still some people jumping on the bandwagon but it's not within our business philosophy."
I'm not sure if the team is the same as the syphon filter one but it's possible as they're both first party games from what i understand. the controls take a little bit of getting used to due to lack of second analogue nub but my only major complaint is the inability to invert the y-axis in the aiming controls.
the standard controls are as follows: character movement with the analog nub, aiming/moving reticule with x (down), square (left), triangle (up), O (right). individual d-pad buttons are used individually: < for reloading, >changing weapons, ^ going into manual aim, and down for context actions like mounting weapons jumping over obstacles etc, right shoulder button for primary weapon, left for secondary. a lot of the fire fighting is auto-aim auto-cover so you just have to time your shoulder button presses but it gets mixed up nicely and there is at least one particular kind of enemy where it's almost imperative that you use manual aiming.
the game is very well made and a lot of fun. the story is cheesy but fun too (for a story about alien invaders taking place in the fifties), it's retrofuturistic (or something) and a bit like a cross between a WWII shooter and a Quake type.

Putting OTHER NINTENDO CHARACTERS IN THERE ? ! ?
That's PREPOSTEROUS ! ! !
WHO WOULD EVEN THINK OF DOING SOMETHING LIKE THAT ? ! ?
Wonder if that is the big secret? I hear there may be more secret characters.
I wonder if it will have the likes of Mr game and watch, or how about the Master Hands from SSB
It controls like a standard platformer with a few actually well implemented waggle controls that. There are also a few moments on each level where you do need to shake the controllers like you're banging drums (though with drum sticks), but those are really just for beating up some of the bigger bad guys (though not the bosses).
Just for the record, I blame you for this.
Well for the record they're not all obscure. Regardless I'm looking forward to the game. If nothing else it's a good quality installment of the vs. series and the controls seem to be working well with the Wiimote controls. It's not SF4, but I'll take it.
Why couldn't it be an Elder scrolls? I'm not totaly clued up on the series.
I had to ban myself from playing Oblivion so it didn't take over my life, however I think if there was one on the Wii the ban would have to be lifted. Monster Hunter Wii is going to be bad enough....
Eh, it was alright. But that's only because I know I have both episodes one and two already lined up in the Orange Box to play whenever I want to. If I had played the game when it was originally released I would certainly have been somewhat pissed off.
At any rate, if you are going to do a cliffhanger, you better do it right. And that's what Valve did in HL2.
Is this true? I hope not. Such a shitty decision.
Shanti is the financial center of the world. It's a shame some Magnum co-star refuses to ever open his gates.
Why not just get Bethesa games on your PS3? Bethesa say that they are making games for the audience. I really think that this will be like Dead Space Extraction in terms of what they assume the audience wants.
I love Oblivion but the one thing I would want to make it completely immersive would be 1:1 controls, motionplus style. I just wanted to root around peoples houses with that. Oh and 1:1 sword fighting.
Why?
Oh man
Raven, Lucky the mummy dog just said:

You cold hearted bastard
Could the game IGN is hinting at be Bethedas game?
I know I'm on the minority here, but I'm not too happy when Nintendo enters
fangasmfan service territory. Yeah, let's bring Waluigi, Toad and the gang and PAH-TAY! Fuck. That's just me, though. I bet everyone else is jizzing their pants right now. Pay no mind to the grumpy old fart.
The HapticMaster and the airbrush, together at last!
i agree with steel on this. little mac in smash bros = OK. token nintendo characters in a standard (non party) game from a different franchise as anything more than a non playing cameo = Not OK.
