Still not at the end but I am almost there. I am going to get the bad ending first, go for good next time.
Yeah, I can't tell if the game is grayish because of the scan quality or art-style. But it runs at 60 fps. Take that Conduit!!
Can you explain why 60fps is supposedly so good? It doesn't look any smoother or play any different than a 30fps game to me. Is it an HDTV thing?
I can see the difference clearly. I can see it clearly with Galaxy, Prime and F-Zero. It give a much smoother game experience. A human eye can see around 70 fps, so you can see a difference between 30 and 60 fps.
But you Hamster eyes are not that good. That take that thing was a reference to their interview.
Play MGS3. Then play MGS2.
Tell me you dont see the difference.
Bah! I think it's just another marketing trick (i.e. blast processing). There's no visable difference. It's all in your heads.
Unfortuantely, I don't have access to that console or games.
Play F-Zero, then play Extreme-G

Prototype is fucking awesome. Using Helicopter blades to slice zombies FTW.

Yes. But which will be a better game Prototype or Infamous. Prototype is like silly fun while Infamous seems to have great platforming and probably be a bit more balanced.
Yeah, the second grudge match of the year.
The first one is between the Tennis games on the Wii.
I like the thinking moments of Infamous, you can hear you character thinking and then you can decide what decision you will make. You can give food to the npc's or take it yourself. You are not really evil, but more thinking about yourself and your girlfriend. I like that you can see what will happen before you make a decision. I do not like it when by giving a random answer something happens you could not oversee. If you want to make a decision you need to know the consequences of both of choices.
Prototype has more mysterious powers and story. The character is more sinister and looks more iconic. The seems to be more stealth missions, because you can change shape to look like your enemy. Also you can steal their memories, so you gain extra info from them. Also the powers are coolers. Too close to call.
That sucks about the animations, but great to hear about the hints. I suck at adventure games like Broken Sword, so that should make it a much more enjoyable experience than having to check a walkthroughn every now and then.
But...but Overkill!
Soul Calibur for the PSP? I didn't see that one coming.
yep, should be a good one. tekken 6 was also a good announcement for the psp. but the best one has to be pixeljunk monsters, i have wanted to try one of those games for a long time now.
back to soul calibur, i read the guy's interview. he made the (in my opinion) mistake of going on about how they are striving to make it accessible to newcomers to the series. while that is a good thing as far as most people are concerned, as iga pointed out in a very good post a few days ago many people have difficulty distinguishing between making something accessible and making it casual. as a result the game seems to have been already written off by the hardcore SC fans.

What do you need to hear about the gameplay? You use motionplus for slashing and point and shoot otherwise.
It's much easier to get cel-shading running at 60 FPS. A rock solid 30FPS is preferable if they can push the detail and effects more. Imagine what Retro Studios could do at 30?
I'm updating now whilst listening to the IGN podcast, wanted to type this as I listened:
Rabbids Go Home
"I'm really excited, it's not a minigame fest. It's got a really great art style and the ingame engine is really good. And its really funny and it feels more like an adventure game or even platformer. Once you guys see some video of it in motion you're going to understand. It's like action adventure mixed with a funhouse. No Rayman in the game, lot of comedy. Engine is going to be badass and the artstyle is kickass.
It looks really really promising, this is like a complete reboot. Internally Ubisoft is really pleased and is expecting big things. This is going to be a big game."
Futuristic setting.
Urban environement.
Sounds of gunfire.
The only "mystery" here is why no one has pegged it as a new Front Mission announcement YET.
Duh.
A couple of stories have it pegged as that. You a fan?

The funny thing is that COD Modern Warfare 2 is at number 5 and World at War sold a million so far on the system and its most likely that there wont be a version of MW2 on wii. Sad to see. I enjoyed COD WOW, with some more polish in the ADS sights mode and some more finesse in graphics and online modes. It could be a real contender.
Activision not pleased with COD WOW wii sails? or just a case of infinity ward snobbery? maybe treyarch could work on it ... or would it tarnish the proper versions too much?

It may have more to do with logistics, Treyarch did COD3 and WOW and worked on Wii versions at the same time. IW work on the "proper" games as one would call them.
Lets say Treyarch finished WOW end of last year, MW2 is out end of this year, that gives Treyarch a year to do a version? Is that enough? I have the feeling that unless Activision hand down a orders to IW to do a wii version, it aint happening. There is definetely a market for shooters on the system with two FPS at over a million.
I stil think Red Steel 2 shot themselves in the balls with the visual and concept change. Its going to be 3 years since the original and they've made it virtually unrecognisable?
