High Voltage news explosion:The Conduit - no split-screen multiplayer, no lan multiplayer, final date set, Animales de la Muerte going full-discnintendoworldreport.com Iga_Bobovic
Oh snap....the RE5 demo IS up on PSN! I haven't turned my PS3 on since I got my PC, lol. Downloading now. Hopefully it will be done in the next 5 hours.
This game is going to be the Nemesis of the RE4 style, I can tell already. Nemesis was a blatant copy of RE2, just totally action-focused. Now RE5 is a blatant copy of RE4 with more of an action focus.
Don't taint your opinion before trying it man. Open your mind like Quato in Total Recall. I want to read your impressions in the thread.
Anyhow about stealth games. I wanted a new Splinter Cell without it actually being a splinter cell game if you know what I mean. I'm burned out after buying four Sam Fisher games in a row. So I was watching Tenchu Shadow Assasins with an eye to fixing a stealth itch and because I like the setting. One thing that bothered me about the splinter cell games - especially with Pandora tommorrow was that it was twitchy. Sometimes the guards seemed to be alerted for no reason and the margin between tip toeing, stepping slowly and slightly faster, which alerts the guards was watery. I remember playing MGS Twin snakes afterwards with its, almost backwards digital movement, either walking or running. And I loved the fact that it was a sure thing. If they were facing away from you and you went up behind them, there was no waffling indecisiveness from the game as to whether the turd would suddenly for no reason become suspcious and have you running for the hills.
That's why I love this description of Tenchu from gamesradar:
"Tenchu is governed by an equally meaty rulebook, free of confusing degrees of right and wrong. Enter the shadows and you are hidden. Get spotted and you will return to the beginning. The logic extends to your tools: shuriken will always snag a guard from his watchtower and the bamboo shoot will always extinguish flaming torches."
I think that for stealth games to avoid frustration you have to have a defined set of rules that always works. Otherwise it just feels unfair or random and frustrating.
- The transition to 3D improved the cinematic direction - Big emphasis on story/dialog over puzzles - Story is in the vein of a young adult novel - Music is splendid - emphasis on story causes pacing issues - Not enough puzzles
Just posted the original 2006 E3 footage of the Euphoria Indiana Jones game. I love the high production values, but Euphoria....
Back then I even questioned it, what the hell difference does Euphoria actually make? We've had it in Force Unleashed and GTA IV, I only played one of those games, but FU was critically, not well received and in GTA IV it barely registered on my perception meter.
I can see what its doing but I really don't care whether its canned animation or on the fly. It makes no difference to me. That video showed Indy throwing a guy into a car 6 times, they all looked broadly the same to me. I don't really care if a guys arm subtley folds over his chest one way or the other. I think that physics has a much bigger role to play in a game like this and that kind of stuff can be done, was done way back when with Psi Ops and the like.
Ragdoll meant jack shit to me back in the day too.
I don't think Indy is suited to be brawler like that 2006 game. Maybe I'm biased because of fond memories but I like the graphic adventure style, solving puzzles and clues and for me, Zack and Wiki showed the way forward/back for an Indiana Jones title. Replace Zack and Wiki with Indy and Shortround, make the visuals properly, i.e not cel shaded anime and you have a great game. Better if they worked a decent story into things like a proper Graphic Adventure.
Anyhow, Wii/PSP Indy looks shit too. Why godamnit? Lucasarts with this and cancelling Battlefront 3 are pissing me off now.
Star Ocean 4 is looking great. The Star Ocean games have always been very high on my favourite RPGs list so I'm very pumped to get this one. only 1 more month away now. Woo hoo! Street Fighter IV in two weeks, Star Ocean IV in one month, and Resident Evil 5 in just a little over a month. Freakin' awesome!
EDIT: Oh yeah I can't forget Halo Wars in a month also. Man I'm going to be in gaming nirvana real soon.
Nice. I was patiently waiting for Iga to be back in full force. I've been doing all the updates for over a week. I always know when you update too as I have something to read when I wake up.
Hoi, I did some updates yesterday and Monday too! BTW I deserve some downtime too, during and after the Christmas holiday I did most of the updates by myself.

None of you deserve updates, peasants. You need to keep posting so your Lord can be informed at all times. *cracks whip*
Edit: I mean, downtime. You don't deserve downtime.

guys i just started work on a university course called GTA. i bet you think that's awesome...
not so awesome when you find out is stands for group theory A
actually that's a lie, it's pretty cool. and it leads on to bigger and better things, i.e. GTB! rockstar could never do that.
Do your lecturers know what GTA means?
Anyone see these Timesplitters 4 wii assets from ages ago?
For real...tell me that doesn't look like Jackson?! Has to be intentional.
Anyway, I have the RE5 demo but I'll wait until dark to play it.
"The combination of this team, the Crytek network and our CryEngine technology will be a foundation for outstanding gaming experiences and a magnet for the best talent in the UK," said Crytek managing director Avni Yerli in a statement.
See! Free Radical's games are going to suddenly look amazing....hahaha.
I still can't believe Crytek bought them. I wasn't even aware that Crytek was big enough to buy anyone. Really though, I'm interested in seeing what FRD does with Crytek's help even though I've never liked much of what FRD has done.
yeah me too. i was under the impression crytek was still a small team of croatian coders. i imagine crysis must/will have very long legs as more gamers get a system close enough to playing that beast but still i can't see how they could have made all that money from that game and from farcry alone. or like steel said, maybe free radical were going for a song
Maybe FRD was dirt cheap after the Haze thing. Or maybe Crytek was raking in the benjamins with both Crysis and its expansion. Edit: What the fuck is going wrong with my posts? Anyway: ElGigante Hobo, motherfucker! There are motherfucking Ganados in the motherfucking village!

Quite fun. Even though I died constantly. Didn't really know you could leave the main house in the Public Annoucement section.
Good to also see that there was no lag.
You have never been outside the house, wow. Sorry I must have thrown you into the fire just running into the madness like that. Also it seemed everytime you got attacked I got attacked, so I couldnt help, it happens.

Edge I dont let a name change my opinion of a game, hype sure, the actual game nope.
You will probably not like it at first, just keep playing.
