depends on the type of fibre. Do you have glass or wheat fibre?

I'm at a relatives. They said the fibre was between the exchange and the main box on the road but then between the house and the main box it's copper wires. They say minimum speed is 32mbps but could go as high as 47mbps.

That's a bit slow, if I didn't screw it up, that translates to ~2.8MB/s or ~22Mbps when slowest fibre options tend to be 100Mbps

So is anyone familiar with Lovecraftian books or lore? Cthulhu? There seems to be tons of Cthulhu based games on switch. What's the general jist of his work and are the books worth reading?

I haven't read any, but as fas as I've gathered from the limited pop culture I've been exposed to, they focus around monstrous amorfous deity beings that govern time and space and simply knowing of their existence could drive someone insane as our simple minds can't cope with their existance.

Of course, I could be totally mistaken.

That’s pretty much what I’ve gathered from perusing the Internet on it. Haven’t really read any of his books but have played a couple of games based on it and seen a movie or two.

These Lovecraft descriptions are terrible, sorry guys.

First of all, the incomprehensible nature of his horror comes not only from the young naivete of humanity but also (and really, much more so) the degeneracy of modernist art destroying Western civilisation. Don't believe me? Read some Lovecraft and you'll discover that Cthulu, rather than being some tentacle dude, is actually like the nonsensical (yet also possibly more true: that's where the horror lies) geometry of a cubist painting. Not only does this make people go insane, it also may just destroy Western civilisation by encouraging man to return to the state of savages, where this sort of magical thinking comes from (and the door to this happening is opened by interaction between civilised people and savages). And, speaking of savages, pretty much all the anxiety-filled gross out moments of horror really just boil down to that of race mixing: explicitly; rather than cthulu appearing and hypnotising someone being super icky, it's just that much more icky when a black dude on the street comes close or brushes against a white person, and this is usually the sort of thing that foreshadows the impending doom of humanity.

And while this may sound like a criticism, it's actually what makes Lovecraft so rich, and a massive step above most horror. Seriously, modernist art as a horror aethstic? How fucking cool is that? And how utterly lame of every Lovecraft adaptation to just turn it into some sort of twee, generic horror fantasy octopus monster.

Well there it is then. Thanks for the more nuanced description.

Got gamepass for the ascent which seems like a buggy mess right now, at least in coop. Graphically it's cool, it seems to be a proper RPG but as a twin stick shooter which is a neat concept but I couldn't get coop to work and it crashed some times.

This month will be great for gamepass so I am excited, 12 minutes and psychonauts 2 for sure.

Also been playing Genshin Impact, what a beautiful engaging game. That world rivals anything Zelda has made, it's beautiful.

We were watching Netflix in HD and I was browsing the net at the same time. The old ISP was 2mbps and it would take 24 hours or something to download a big game.
Near the end of Syberia 3 and in Syberia 2 fashion they're ending the game with a complicated mechanical puzzle. Yay 😑

Syberia 3 finished. Really enjoyed it. Would only recommend if you like the first 2 games, you can get both for under 2 dollars in a bundle in the sale. Probably my favourite one in the series, felt like much more of a journey and they really fleshed out the game world and characters in 3D.

At a friends house who has a mega PC and it was glorious. Super impressive game but not for me. My PC isn't going to run it as well and I have no desire to try to fly a plane.
