PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Fire Emblem Fates is utterly FANTASTIC and easily one of the BEST games Nintendo has put out in the last 4 or 5 years. If you have a 3DS, you'd be foolish NOT to get it.
I thought nothing could be better than Awakening?! This is one of their best... ever.
Wow. I don't even know if that or something equivalent is being released in Europe. It looks fantastic. Which order are you playing the campaigns in? Birthright, Conquest, Revelation?
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
I still haven't even played Awakening. I find it impossible to get any motivation to play on the handhelds. Maybe the NX will fix this problem.
Well, I started playing and got utterly confused. I named my character Leo, but, as it turns out, one of your sibling's names also happens to be Leo. When conversations were happening I didn't know who they were talking about or to. I had to restart and play the Prologue and a chapter or two over again. I haven't made it to the point where you choose your Fate, yet. I am going to play it in the order of Birthright, Conquest then Revelation.
A few moments after beginning though, the quality shines through loud and clear. From the animation sequences, to the CG, the musical touches and the sound effects; the banter between the characters and the personalities of each and every one of them; the dark and brooding nature of the atmosphere balanced by the closeness of the family. It's steeped in Fire Emblem lore, but it has a mystic quality of it's own. It's the most finely tuned, beautiful, moving, Nintendo game I've ever experienced yet. It portrays the conflict PERFECTLY, setting up the players on either side of the conflict where you know within minutes of starting: "If I have to make the decision to fight ANY of these people, it's going to be heart-wrenching and TOUGH!"
They didn't just improve on Awakening as a whole. They deconstructed everything that made Awakening great and made each and every individual piece BETTER!
If you don't typically play handheld games, you may not know: There are quite a few handheld games out there now that SURPASS their console counterparts! I'm not the kind of person that harps on people playing or not playing games I like, but missing this one would be a DAMN shame!
Your brother and sisters. Can you face them in battle and strike them down, if need be?
They announced in December it was coming to Europe, but still haven't given a date yet.
I've always been partial to butt-butt, but apparently that name's already taken.
This kind of talk bothers me in that Ass Creed article.
"This will happen despite the fact that Assassin's Creed is taking a break this holiday season -- after the brand took a pounding due to a buggy installment."
Claiming the AC series is losing popularity just because a game was glitchy. Give me a fucking break. Its losing popularity because its a story based adventure game that they have run into the dirt by releasing a new one every year for the past 8 years. In fact, a few times there's been NUMEROUS games in one year. People are tired of it, whether a game was glitchy or not.
What if Nintendo did this with Zelda? Only every game runs fine with no bugs. People are still going to get tired of the same thing over and over. Treating these kinds of IP like a multi-player focused FPS such as Call of Duty is idiotic. Games like that can get away with the yearly updates because they're almost more like a sports game. People look forward to new maps and guns for COD the same way they look forward to new rosters and whatnot in Madden Football. It boggles my mind how companies think they can do this with ANY kind of game.
Go look at my mechs in the xcx thread
No go ahead. You're welcome to share the name.
It's not Sunday morning Street Fighter without Robio or Yoda to play with.
I wanna play. I'll go out and buy a PS4 right now... oh wait.
Hey I played some with you too.
The HTC Vive will cost $200 more than its chief competition, the Oculus Rift. The $799 headset, powered by Valve’s SteamVR, will ship with a controller for each hand and a pair of “Lighthouse” laser base stations to track movement in a room-scale environment.
The price was announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where it was also confirmed Vive will ship with an internal microphone and integrated Bluetooth support to work with a variety of smartphones. For a limited time, the system will come bundled with two popular titles: Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption.Wee
It does come with more stuff than Oculus, who knows how much the oculus controller will cost this has it in the bundle. And it has the room sensor thing which who knows how many games will use it. The issue is exclusives, this thing has none, the VR games will be bottlenecked at Oculus, why make an experience that can only be played by Vive owners. So the room aspect will probably go to waste.
Where's the sub $100 device?
Happy 30th Birthday to the greatest video game series of all!!!!!!
