Big company complacency. The guys behind their purchase at MS even left. So it was a case of the people making the deal (in both companies) were gone relatively soon after, leaving no one to really care about the outcome.

Also from what I have read, Nintendo pretty much left Rare alone to do their own thing, occasionally nudging them here and there, for instance, make Dinosaur Planet a Starfox ARPG. Interviews have said that when MS bought rare, the company owners, the Stampers were multi-millionares overnight and just became really relaxed and rubbish and let the company fall apart.

There are times earlier than that where it might be possible, but they're inconsistent.

So that would be 23:30 my local time at the earliest. Which is 0:30 for Iga and Sup, 01:30 for Bugs.
