EG Kirby and the Rainbow Curse review
"This lives up to the legacy of its predecessor, and takes it to new, interesting places"eurogamer.net impressions gamingeek
Sigh. Why not the whole weekend? Some people can't schedule an appointment to play. I guess I really enjoyed if I want to come back to it.
I guess they want it to be a teaser/taster to make people want to buy the game. If you give them the whole weekend that's all many people will ever want to play of any game, let alone one so seemingly slight.
Well that was a lot of fun and I was hoping it would not in. Problem is it's too simple, only 2 maps available and it gets a bit repetitive.
Are you guys expecting too much based on a limited demo? There seems to be a ton of stuff with more added post launch, including a single player mode and amiibos add tons of single player missions too.

I can't believe you seriously said ... "amiibos".
Your second post today to make bugsie a sad bugsie. ...I'll take me coat.
Just played an hours worth of Splatoon and I'm loving it. This is actually a take on the shooter genre that I don't suck at
I don't see how anyone can complain about the rollers. They always come in last with the scores and are super easy to kill. If you leave them to it undisturbed, they can cover a lot of ground fast, but the fact that they're so easy to take out balances things out.
I don't care much for the graphical style, but the presentation and graphics are top notch. The 3D models of the area's are very simple, but the way paint is flying around everywhere is a joy to behold. There was also no noticable lag at all. I was playing with 6 japanese guys at one point, but it could have been local multiplayer for all I know.
The possibilities for strategy are huge and I liked how the 2 maps were very different. The warehouse had a constantly ongoing war smack in the middle while the other required you to keep a good eye on the map, as it was easy to overlook certain area's while you were focusing on others. I also don't think that chat is required for this game, the whole eb and flow of the match is directly clear when you look down to the gamepad. If you're set up with a bunch of idiots with the strategic insight of a seacucumber, no amount of verbal communication can make up for that.
Overall I think it's a very elegant design, with every element feeding into it. The map is more importan then in any other game, jumping to your teammates is not only a means of fasttravel, but it also gives you a clear view of what area you should concentrate on and the use of each primary and secondary weapon is immediately apperant thanks to how the paint splatters.
The game might feel a bit slight after the demo, but it's only been 2 maps. There's still single player, post-launch free DLC and the promise of Nintendo adding in the option to team up with 4 friends in one team. Although that last one should have been ready for inclusion at launch if you ask me. Bit of a bummer I won't be around tonight for the last demo hour.
I don't want to have to buy Amiibos to enjoy my game.
You dont have to, that's just add on content challenges. No different from buying DLC. There's a fully featured single player mode too.
I pretty much agree with Supreme although I didn't feel the game was slight at all. I loved it, I'm used to IR control so sunk in really easily to the gyro aiming, thank fuck someone is using the gyros for aiming. The game is a ton of fun and the controls are awesome, it's Nintendo I guess but I was still doubtful before playing it. The squid mechanic is awesome and I don't think you need voice chat, in fact it could be quite redundant at times.
You can co-operate anyway, I followed a roller and squid along in his path then popped out to take out enemies. With another player we took alternative opposite routes to cover a square path and met back in the middle.
I dont quite understand the difference between the Splattershot jr and senior?
I feel the rollers are a bit overpowered, not massively but I think they should limit them to one per team. But then rollers are perfect for novice or younger players who cannot get the controls down and they can still have fun and destroy enemies too.
I wish there was a quick 180 button to turn fast.
The sniper rifle is great for enemies but seemingly useless for painting, you slow down so much. I think you have to treat it like a proper sniper rifle, find the high ground and shoot down. Running about with it is useless.
Anyhow, successful demo/game, it feels like they've nailed that Mario kart feeling in a shooter, and shooting the turf when not fighting enemies means you are constantly engaged. I can see this game getting quite a few great reviews and it's turned into a must have for me.
In the first one I could only complete two matches.
Today I was able to complete 5 of them.
All the others I couldn't either join people or I got kicked out in the middle of the match. It might be on my end my router is really old so it might have been losing connection.
7am, I'll pass on that one. After it's 3pm
Anybody up for a few rounds of Mario Kart?

Sorry, I no longer own that.

Haven't downloaded the demo. Not really interested.

I've managed to miss 2 out of 3 demo events. Oh, well. I'm already sold on the game anyway.
Yeah, I've already preordered so if I miss the last demo event, it'll be fine.
Yeeah... Splatoon was gud.
I have to miss the last test fire event.
