Bah, a new update has borked my Nokia Lumia 520 -_- I'm loving the UI, but I supose you can only expect as much from a Windows OS. Quite a shame...

Its much easier to get excited about a new Metroid than it is a new Snes style platformer. Now, if this was the only game of its type on the U at this point that would be one thing. But I agree with Vader on this one, there's enough games like this on the console and not enough games of the Metroid style. Not only Metroid, but I would have rather had Retro do just about anything else other than two Donkey Kong Country games back to back.
Are we going to have to wait another 3 or 4 years for them to make something else? This could be the only game they ever make on the console. And for as much as Nintendo like to tout the U Gamepad, there are numerous franchises Retro could have worked on for an early Wii U title that would use a controller like that in much more interesting ways, Metroid among them.
While this video does a good job at showing colors and the variety of environments in Tropical Freeze, it does not capture how INCREDIBLE it looks on an HD TV in reality!
Retro maybe helping Miyamoto make his new game.
Metroid has never really been Miyamoto's baby. I wouldn't expect a new Metroid from them any time soon, and TRUST ME, I want one MORE THAN the rest of you!!

Going by your theory of the best in many a given franchise being released on the 3DS and it being all kinds of awesome ... I fully expect a new 2D Metroid (Metroid Dread or whatever else they choose to call it) which will be even more incredible than Fusion and Zero Mission.
I also fully expect Intelligent Systems to release a new Advance Wars on 3DS which will be the best ever one ever!

wayforward has never showed they have the level design skills to make a new metroid. Let them remake Super Metroid first.
I did not realize snes had platformers with dynamic camera angles! And besides Mario and Rayman what other 2d platformers are there on the Wii-U?I hope Naughty Dog doesn't do a TLOU sequel. That should be a single game, IMO.
Anyone playing the new Strider? Leo? The demo seems pretty good; not sure if it's worth buying, though.
