I pretty much feel the same way.
You know what I clued into a couple of hours ago? My initial assumption was that X1 needed DRM because all games had to be installed. Without DRM people would just freely rip games. Now they are saying all games will play from the disc after a day 1 update so it seems the system was always capable of playing games straight from disc. So this was a failed power play from the start and really soured me towards MS and publishers in general. That said I don't agree with game shops blatant profiteering on used games either. Frankly publishers need to reduce new game prices and maybe tone down marketing and development budgets back from insanity levels.
Wow so you are not allowed to casually ask someone on Miiverse if they want to exchange friend codes. Mods delete and warn you.
Just got back from visiting my mom in the hospital.
I brought her, her Animal Crossing and she explored my town a little bit. Good, non-stressing distraction!
Anyone pick up Luigi U yet?
Nice. Glad it went well.
I want impressions. Come on someone.
Game 7 NBA Finals tonight. Heat vs Spurs. You guys better watch. I dont care what country you are in.
I got it. Haven't played it yet. I was worried the download would take forever, but it was pretty quick!
Keep in mind, you have to first pop in Mario Wii U so IT can update, THEN it will give you a link in the title screen to the eShop to purchase Luigi U.
Thank God it also gives you the option to use the Controller Pro now too!
Best hospital present ever!! You are the best son there is

She owned it already. We've been playing together for a week or so. I just retrieved her 3DS and her game from her apartment and took it to her so she and I could play!
...but Thanks!
Played a tiny, tiny bit of Luigi U...
I like what they did with the Title Screen. It starts with Mario, Luigi and the Two Toads, as usual, but as soon as they start to run, Nabbit brings up the rear and the "+ New Luigi U" logo drops into the picture!
It feels immediately like Mario Wii U, but then again, it feels completely different. It starts with the same intro, except Mario isn't present at the table. Only his hat is there, where he would normally sit. The stages are the same on the map, but on the inside they are totally different. It's DEFINITELY a psych-out to START a stage and hear the 99-Second Warning-Jingle play as soon as you enter!
I find it sooo strange for Nintendo to make a decidely NON-Beginner friendly Mario title! This game is the equivalent of a Meat Boy or more Modern-day platformer. It's meant to CHALLENGE! The control is spot-on, of course, but Luigi handles differently. He runs faster, Jumps higher, has a Yoshi-style flutter where he'll stay in the air a bit longer, and doesn't stop on a dime; you need to account for his differences IMMEDIATELY!
Between the Timer and the way he handles, this game is for the Gamer who CRAVES a challenge or simply wants MORE NSMB U! For some reason, I find it to be the most inriguing thing Nintendo has done in a while. Shows a glimpse of catering to the hard(er)-core, and that's not typically like them!
Luigi U looks like it's a Lost Levels kind of game, with Nabbit being the concession to younger/casual gamers. I actually think that's a great idea to handle it. Trying to sell my son on the idea that we could play this together, but he's insistant on Game & Wario.
Sold. Will get when I get home.
I'm not sure it's worth the air fare to NZ.
Store clearance pick-up only. Even if it wasn't, they don't post to Australia because it's an Australian chain and they want Australians to buy from the Australian store. Where the console is $428.
Unless the grass starts disappearing.
Glad to hear it all went fine!
Is there not a single review for New Luigi? Though Leo's early impressions are great. Love to get the boxed version but it seems to be priced as a full new game and the download is much cheaper.
