Dragon's Dogma is kind of just ok so far. The combat has its moments but most of the time it is a sea of basic crap enemies that you just hack and slash. Nothing really stands out. As I play I think I might as well play Dark Souls again.
Angel I saw your pawn, did you play this for 215 hours?
I already told you, it is some Korean MMO.
Just disgusting by Ubisoft. Man this industry is a mess. How do you not support this if not buying the game could get the dev team fired.
Agreed...the Dark Souls comment is right on. Reminds me of all the Resident Evil ripoffs back in the day where it was a cool IDEA for a game, but you'd play it and be like yeeeah...I think I'll just replay Resident Evil 1 through 3 again.
Would still love to read a blog or something about your time at Atari. I think it was Atari.
Pretty bummed two of the last games I tried to get into kind of fell flat. Half-Minute Hero on 360 was more annoying than fun and Retro City Rampage... THAT one disappoints even more. It throws 80's and 90's references at you nearly 4 or 5 a minute, and it includes games, movies, music... you name it. The gameplay is as generic and dull as it comes though. It's OK to make a retro game, I actually encourage it, but the gameplay can't be as retro as RCR goes. The murder rampages consist pretty much of holding the right stick in the direction of your enemies and running at them. The races are near impossible because of the top-down view, miniscule-map and "retro" controls. The jumping sucks. The tailing mission that mocks tailing missions because they are boring... is boring. The references make the game, but someone forgot to actually MAKE a game out of it!
After playing FEZ, a great example of retro done RIGHT, it's near impossible to get into retro games done WRONG.
...and it's SNOWING ---HARD--- ! ! !
Stay warm and surround yourself with emergency supplies friends who are being effected by Disney Superstorm Nemo.
Ni No Kuni get!!
This is make or break. For over a month I have been starting games and hating each and every one of them. I even tried restarting Uncharted 3 and Red Dead Redemption ... I'm just not feeling them at all... I just can't get into them try as I might. The only thing that's given me any joy videogame wise over the last month and a half or so since I've been back has been Forza 3 (picking out and ticking off tournaments off of the event list).
If Ni No Kuni (a game I've looked forward to for donkey's years - since it was a Japan only DS game) lets me down, I'll need to seriously rethink this hobby of mine.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
PS I'm downloading the Wizard's Companion book on pdf. I wish I had the hardback that was in the Wizard's Edition but I wasn't fast enough with my order for that one. Oh well, at least I saved about 70 euros buying just the game.

2 feet expected here....fuckin' power better stay on.
In honor of Nemo.
So they found Nemo. Dah dah dum. Im here all day.
I read the GI Witcher 3 article, sounds excellent of course as all GI cover features do. Seems like the combat will be much faster and have true dodge canceling. Sounds promising. The open world should make it a much better game on its own. It seems like the crappy use a potion before a fight system is still in. Oh and loads of useless crap is still in as they say crafting will be as big a part as ever. But they make it easier to access your stored inventory from anywhere (like from your horse), so that helps a lot.
I'm at the end of Zelda Wii...damn this game is long. Kind of drags a bit in the latter hours. Its a great game but I'll be glad if Nintendo really is trying something new with Zelda. The formula has been so similar for so long. At first I thought this game was better than Twilight Princess, but I think Twilight had a better pace from beginning to end than Skyward so they kind of even out. Probably give it like an 8.8 rating.
Also started playing Tomb Raider 4: Last Revelation, which I've never played. I stopped playing TR after TR3 until Legends came out on 360...so I've never played 4, 5, or Angel Of Darkness. With the new one coming soon, I figured I'd give this one a go.
I bought it off Steam, and the PC version looks about 50 times better than the PS1 version..but the controls are horrid. All keyboard, no mouse...and you can't use an xbox pad because it doesn't recognise the triggers so you don't have enough buttons. Fuck my life. So I am playing the PS version since it controls better...even though the graphics are so ass I can't see where I'm going half the time.
So far its cool though....basically plays the same as the 1st 3 games. We'll see if the level design is as good.
^ Edge, you can download a free program called Xpadder 5.3. It will allow you to map keyboard keys to any button on the 360 controller. That's how I play Doom classic on PC. Xpadder 5.3 is the last free version of that program; newest version costs money. I've never had any problems with 5.3 on Win7.
Hmm thanks for the info. I will give it a look!
It's like a Move controller, but you use your dick.
Nemo's behavior is very fishy. First it started as heavy snow, then switched to sleet and rain. Now it's just rain. News is saying that will change towards the evening, but so far, so good.
Why is it every time it's fashion week, we get hit by a friggin' super storm?
