Cyberpunk 2077
Warsaw, 18 October 2012 – CD Projekt RED has officially announced the title of its in-development role-playing game. "Cyberpunk 2077" will be set in the world created by Mike Pondsmith, one of the fathers of the cyberpunk genre and the creator of the cult-classic pen-and-paper RPG, Cyberpunk.
"The Team has to love the material. The Team has to want to be faithful to the material. The Team has to have the skills to execute the material and see that vision through to the end. They have to be on fire with the desire to make an extraordinary game.
And that leads, at last, to why we hooked up with CD Projekt RED" – Mike Pondsmith commented, why he has chosen to work with the Polish game developer.
The cyberpunk atmosphere, well known from William Gibson's novels, the "Blade Runner" movie and the famous pen-and-paper game, "Cyberpunk 2020", will surround the player. The creators promise that "Cyberpunk 2077" will be true to the essence of the cyberpunk genre. Players will be thrown into the dark future of the year 2077 and into a world where advanced technologies have become both the salvation and the curse of humanity. A multi-thread, nonlinear story designed for mature players (a CD Projekt RED trademark) will take place in the sprawling metropolis of Night City and its surroundings. Players will have a chance to visit places well known from "Cyberpunk 2020", including a combat zone completely taken over by gangs, the legendary Afterlife joint and the nostalgic Forlorn Hope.
Freedom of action and diversity in gameplay will be delivered thanks to the sandbox nature of the game and mechanics inspired by the "Cyberpunk 2020" pen-and-paper system, fine tuned to meet the requirements of a modern RPG. Gameplay will pump adrenaline through players' veins and be consistent with the celebrated Cyberpunk spirit – rebellion, style, edge, uncertainty. And of course, a cyberpunk reality cannot be deprived of murderous steel – guns, rifles, implants, dozens of gadgets and other varied pieces of equipment needed to survive on the streets of Night City. The developers are focused on making the technology of 2077 credible and exciting.
For more info please visit the newly launched blog: cyberpunk.net and read some articles written by both the developers from CD Projekt RED and Mike Pondsmith himself.

There are no losers in the console war anymore? The market is so much bigger.
That title is so horrible. It's like renaming Half-Life Science Fiction.
Really goes to show how important a title is. The name Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't give me the slightest big of interest in the game. Plus putting a year in the title never works. Reminds me of this:
Unless it's a sports title.
In that case you can stick both the genre and the year in the title! In fact, it's probably better if you do.
I don't get it.
What game is that from, though?
EDIT:
Ugh, GAF is going all Nazi on the modding now. Locking megathreads, mods making their own threads then locking other peoples threads on the same subject even if they were made before theirs. Then they are doing this:
"And I'm going to be deleting/editing messages related to the recent change. This thread isn't for those. PM a mod."
This is the kind of modding crapola that put me off other sites.
Thats' what I've said all along. Cancelled WiiU and I don't even care. There is no Pikmin 3

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
So it's turned into GS?
And yet nobody can match the success of the PS or PS2.
I guess you could chalk that up to everyone getting a large slice of pie, but still. PS and PS2 also had much more diverse libraries. Though I think Wii U could fix that problem if it does well with all audiences.
For some reason the title doesn't bother me. It kind of gives it an old school, campy vibe. And if the game is anywhere near the level of the Witcher series, its going to be bad fucking ass.

Hitman Absolution will allow you to dress up as a man-sized chipmunk, a scarecrow and a samurai. There's also a chicken-suit to lay about in.
The stealth shooter series has long allowed Agent 47 to blend in by deploying disguises. Hitman Absolution appears to offer the widest wardrobe yet.
Other costumes appear to include a chef, judge, cowboy, rocker, wrestler and riot cop.
Man after building a new PC and with the Wii U looming on top of the holidays, I'm finding it hard to pick up some of the titles I wanna get. Granted, my backlog is immense, but still. I's want Hitman 5 and Dishonored.
Time to start planting some gift hints...
Sounds awesome already.

Gaijin Games publishing Runner 2 on Wii U
Because Aksys didn't want to
One thing I'm disappointed about for Wii U no support of Dolby Digital or DTS formats no optical audio output even $10 dvd players support these and have the port. It's crazy that Nintendo decided to cheap on this. Does not give me a lot of confidence about online. They really don't know how to handle tech well. Support for those standards of audio are a no brainer, I would like to know wtf they are thinking? This along with hair brained way they are supporting chat in games, leads me to feel the support for online gaming is going to be halfassed at best. I just don't have a lot of faith in them. I guess we will see, but I'm approching Wii U as a mainly single player experience at this point.
PS I do have and HDMI HTR but I don't always want to use and leave it on. Because of the Wii U if I want 5.1 PCM audio I will have to plug Wii U directly into it, then route the signal back to my TV. Meaning no Wii U without it being on which sucks. Extra cables more wires , more electricity. Wii U is starting to annoy me. If it supported DD5.1 and DTS I could just plug into TV and use the Tos link connection from TV I already have hooked up and still get great DTS or DD. The fact of the matter is Nintendo is too fucking cheap o pay the petty almost nothing license fees .
^ Nintendo are cheap asses. It was an annoying omission on the GCN and Wii, but it's absolutely ridiculous on a next gen console.
I suppose I could just accept the DD pro logic like with Wii at least Tos Link will pass that. But i want full 5.1 my HTR can do it, I just hate having extra cables and being forced to leave the HTR on all the time. Plus it is an older HTR with HDMI 1.1 so there might HDCP handshake problems with newer standard HDMI 1.4 buttell you this I'm not buying a new HTR just because of fucking Nintendo.
Off-Topic: I can't believe how many people on Neogaf have a hard-on for Fidel Fucking Castro! Sorry but I'm banned from there (by request) and I saw Wesker posting in there.
