Well this is great fucking news. I can definitely see how this is going to push gaming innovation over the top going forward.
lolz if this is for Gold members.
FYI when I said the games wouldn't 'count' I was referring to Vaders internal studio definition.
You misunderstand me. What I'm saying is that when Nintendo do get a great exclusive 3rd party game everyone ignores it and says that there is nothing but Mario and Zelda. It's a pet peeve of mine that other companies can pump out sequel after sequel and usually at a faster rate than Nintendo does - one home console zelda every 4 or 5 years? And they get no criticism at all.
Like you said, it's okay for MS to milk Halo? That gets a free pass because they get 3rd party support? 3rd parties need to choose to support Nintendo but you can't them blame them for producing more Mario when the 3rd party support isn't there.
When MGS5 gets announced no one will quibble. When DMC5 gets announced no problem (other than the developer). Assasins Creed 5 - no problem. Halo 6 no problem etc. You can't bitch about one without bitching about the other without being hypocritical. And calling people butthurt is kinda harsh man, I don't expect that from you.
New as in not Mario and Zelda.
Everyone focuses on Mario and Zelda and ignores other stuff, for instance Vader stating that Pikmin was the only other new franchise in a decade? Luigi's Mansion released round about the same time, yet forgotten. Nintendo also did stuff like Wave Race and 1080 Snowboarding that people seem to forget about. And you may like to ignore the "casual crap", lots of other people find great value in some of those games. There are people where who have enjoyed Wii Sports, or Wii Fit or Nintendogs.
Nintendo may keep producing Mario and Zelda, but they are still producing Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars and more - whilst still commissioning Another Code, Eternal Darkness, Endless Ocean, Hotel Dusk and more. They are not a two game company, which is the impression many people give off.
That's what they just did with Kid Icarus man. According to reviews the game has more depth than most console titles and production values on par with Wii. It's a hardcore game, from a first party. They did it already.
Thanks Foolz, Bugsie, Archie, Steel, Travo, Leo, Dvader for the birthday wishes. My nephew decided to blow the candles on the cake and spat allllllllllll over it in the process. Imagine my face when I had to eat it with everyone watching.
Yeah it's getting F-ed up now, if you go by the "acquired, already existing outside of" distinction then Sony and MS's first parties shrink drastically.
Everyone would like it, if the game is good. Unfortunately Pikmin, whilst it didn't bomb or anything the sequel didn't do too good 1.2 million and the first game put up like 1.63 million sales. That's good for a 3rd party game on a Nintendo platform, but compared to Nintendos Mario and Zelda 4-5 million selling titles?
You can't just have new IP, you have to have successful new IP. Nintendo's problem is that they need to keep flinging mud at the wall till it sticks. Instead they throw a couple of handfuls of mud and show's over.
THAT'S IT! YOU HAVE PUSHED ME TOO FAR
Insanity.
Babysitting and wasting 5 hrs in Ikea, then 6 hours the next day furniture making is why. And driving to the dump.
I liked Sessler.
LBP Racing looks fun-ish. Great news for Fire Emblem, I would love to see an adventure game with Fire Emblem trappings. I just took Renais back in the Sacred Stones and I'm levelling up weapon power so my team can use the legendary weapons.
This guy is nuts, Wii U is out this year and is about to be shown in about 6 weeks or something. Why is he writing this ranting editorial like we already don't know what kind of graphics to expect from it?
Bearing in mind that the game was completed and released almost 2 years ago (June 2010 in Japan) and it was in development before then....
Play Xenoblade on a good SDTV, it's a jaggy mess on HDTVs but can look pretty great in SD, depending on the area. Bionis Leg looks pretty awesome but Sword Valley will look like a turd on any TV. Xenoblade is doing environments that are rivalling or surpassing the size of many 360 games with free movement, not set camera angles and small walking areas. It has to have lower textures to manage the scale.

The guy even complains about lip syncing.
What PS3/360 game apart from La Noire has lip syncing that isn't utter shite. I'd say it actually stands out more on PS3/360 because otherwise the graphics are more realistic.
Xenoblade was made to lip sync with the original Japanese voices, I doubt the localisation addressed that.
Iga played it in Japanese, maybe it's a little better there? I barely noticed any problems, like you said it's more noticible in 360/PS3 games are the graphics are more realistic.
Tokyo Jungle, what's with the graphics?
If he's playing in English then he should be complaining about the sound, not the graphics.
New DQ10 trailer, it looks decent
This is real and releasing soon.

I did the 3DS system update. How do I do a game update like Mighty Switch Force? Would love to try the extra levels
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
No idea, but I think there will probably be a giant icon on the 3DS shop saying Mighty Switch Force update on it. Or you can view latest additions?
EDIT:
[3DS] Mighty Switch Force game update, 5 new levels, release TBA
Quote: The upcoming game update will also feature a quick-retry button and make the 3D better.
Mighty Switch Force will be adding five free levels, according to Nintendo Power.
The content will be delivered in a game update that will also enhance the game's 3D effect and add a quick-retry button. The game, WayForward's first for the eShop, came out in December 2011 and snuck into our Favorite 10 Games of 2011 list.
There is no word on when exactly the new levels will be released. We've contacted WayForward and will let you know as soon as we hear from them.
Nope still crappy when it comes to lip syncing.
Nintendo confirms first annual loss in 30 yearsThough results significantly better than initial predictions; forecasts return to profit next year.
So I was right...they really SHOULD have released their new console last year instead of this year! I'm surprised by this news, and NOT surprised, at the same time. #1: I would have thought some of their losses during the Gamecube era would be worse, but #2: they have been sitting on a dead (for the most part) console for 2 years. What can you expect?
Please explain this logic to me?
Imagine the head this babe could give?!
So they could get all their losses out of the way and get a console out there with some actual support.
Please never ever start a business.
Ok Mr brilliant.
