Hands on with Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir
It’s a throwaway bauble; a worthy replacement for 3DS’s in-built AR distractions, but not a proper game in its own right

Journey (A) Review
It's the kind of game that keeps you thinking when you walk away, since it gives enough breadcrumbs and imagery to spur theories that will almost certainly fill blog posts for years to come.

That actually does look better.
It was an all Capcom weekend for me this weekend. Played these:

What about you Commandos?
What are you dudes and dudettes(cosplay girl) playing?
I'm spending time with Rayman and I've never seen a more gorgeous platformer.
Bear and I got our asses handed to us last night and loved every bit of it.
I played some Gears 3 multiplayer with a Gamespot friend and think I'm having cravings for another multiplayer night.
Leo beat me to it.
Leo's favourite hyped game, Binary Domain.
Heeey... I was THINKING about buying it...
I just decided NOT to!
I am saving the money for Yakuza: Dead Souls instead! Happy?
I think Binary Domain might actually have been better received! (I say that after reading only one review.)
Not that it matters of course.
After holding off of a few months I finally threw down and got Tides of Destiny. Sooooo glad I waited until I was in the mood for a game like this. Despite a hour long intro of complete and utter crap, and some fairly drastic changes to the gameplay I've come to completely embrace it. Rune Factory: Frontier was my GOTY for 2009, and when I heard they changed some important parts of the game I stayed away until I thought I was feeling open minded enough to try it. The farming has almost entirely been removed, but they seriously ramped up the fighting and RPG aspects of the game. So it feels familiar and completely different at the same time. Never an easy task, at least not when you want to maintain the same level of quality, but they pulled it off - at least 5 hours into the game. Not sure if I'll call this my GOTY for 2011, but it hasn't done anything yet to take itself out of contention.
Oh and for what it's worth I also picked up Sakura Samurai from the 3DS eShop. Neat little game. Kind of like a cross between Punch-Out and Bushido Blade. It's tough as hell, and I'm already struggling with the first boss though. Not sure exactly how much gameplay I can get out of something that I so utterly suck at.
Goldeneye finished. The Africa levels were fantastic except the last one which was kind of annoying.
News to me. Sounds f-cked up.
So what, after the official release date no one will be able to get the game? That can't be right.
Which bit? The bit where you chase the boss around? The bit where you you dodge falling platforms? The bit where you defend Natalya? The bit where the rocket launcher pins you down?
Bravely Default
Zavvi has Pandora's Tower (Including a limited edition version similar to The Last Story LE) listed for an April 13 release. I realise this was the least well received of the Wii's triarchy of "Japan only" RPGs and hence the one concidered least likely to get a western release but it would seem like it's happening after all. Not sure if I will end up getting it. Certainly won't be pre-ordering it like I did with Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story, will wait for some reviews.
GG you will also be pleased to hear that Rhythm Heaven Wii is also listed for European release for 11th May.
Nice batch of "last legs" games to see the Wii off into the sunset. Reminds me of the PS2's tremendous fairwell games with Godhand, Okami, God of War II and Persona 4 (not quite though)

Thank God, better late than never.
I think we've had it pretty good here in europe at least. Sure there aren't great wii games releasing every month or anything but I don't even play games enough to buy every month. Xenoblade is over 100 hrs long too, we got Skyward Sword and Last Story and Rhythm Heaven. Even Fatal Frame 2 is coming. By the time that releases I think Wii U will be out.
Adorable Kittens Waking Up
Well how cute is this? A group of tired kittens all wake up at the same time to start their day!
Cause Vader was finishing Goldeneye I was curious to see how the reviews for the HD Reloaded edition panned out on metacritic and they were okay but not great. I wondered why as I would like to get it if there was a control method better than dual analogue to use.
So I watched the Gametrailers review video they said it was "a suprising step back from the wii version" which they liked. According to them the gameplay in the HD version has been "dumbed down" because the game has been made easier with enemies that don't really fight back and merely run away or seek cover, with the only challenge being when they swamp areas. They also say the Move controls aren't as good as Wii and there are no motion melee or motion lean mechanics.
The online mode is pretty useless as there are connection issues and nobody online anyway. Anybody own the HD version? I quite like the agressive AI in Wii GE.
I wish they would have put it out on the PC, honestly.
