You have not been paying attention then. The World Ends with You would not work on consoles, unless you made it on the Wii U. Mario and Luigi use the dual screens really well. These are pretty much the RPGs this generation. If you like jRPG and do not have a DS then you are simply missing out.

I hear what you are saying, but really with the tech moving forward and getting cheaper they can't keep the hand-helds in the last centruy anymore.  I'm sad to see it go this way, but the reality is all of the old back catalog stuff they kept re-releasing for the hand-helds have been exhausted.  We need these newer systems so we can start re-hashing more modern generations of games (bring on PS1, PS2, XB, DC RPGS please).

The main quest, plus a fair chunk of side quests.  I'd say I've put around 50 hours into the game so far.

Just looking at Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3.

It's amazing.  They just may be the highest point of western games development for the console.  These games would be incredible if they just had their campaign modes, and then they pile on with their multiplayer.  (Halo as well).  It's almost not fair to the studios that simply make games that have an outstanding single player mode.

Yes and no.  Boxed versions will always be collectible but it just makes the game more easily available to people who aren't necessarily collectors but are interested in playing it.

My unopened Ikaruga for example goes for over 100 quid on ebay and anyone can buy it on XBLA

Maybe in EU it is different.  Maybe it's just not fun for me anymore because I got the ones I wanted.

I've seen my games shed over half their value as they have been released on the DL systems.

Which I am happy with. I'd rather have my copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga be worth $30 and allow a few hundred thousand people more play experience the game (assuming someone figures out how to emulate the Saturn properly).
