and on whatever you and Agnates are tlking about (I lost the track a long time ago) Third party publishes are not lazy. They want to make money, and the bigger they are the more they want to make money. The don't publish on the Wii because they don't make money from it.
They are versatile. I just finished their PSP/Wii game Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law.
I liked that game.
"...thanks to the appearance of the PS3 and Xbox 360, video game graphics and sound have seen dramatic increases. In the future, gaming visuals and sound could meet or even exceed movie quality, demanding a high level game development environment. To meet the quality demanded of games in the coming years while dealing with costs, game development environments will need not just "reforms," but "revolution.""
Sorry - image won't work here's the link:
Simple and to the point.
To add to that, they do make money from the Wii, with Just Dance.![Nyaa](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)
You know I can totally see why many developers aren't interested in putting their mainline franchises on the Wii. In a lot of ways Nintendo is a selfish company. They always do a good job of creating a system that caters specifically to their game making style which doesn't push tech. The N64 used cartridges while others used CD's. The GC used proprietary mini-discs with not a lot of storage space compared to DVD's. Now the Wii is a comparatively low-tech system with no HDD, very little RAM, lousy online system, etc. Their systems and controllers always fit well with their games but they seem to care very little on other developer's desires.
Is the original FPS version now cancelled? If so, my interest in the game is completely gone. I don't play FPS too often, but this one really had me interested. It was something that looked different enough from everything else out there. But now they've switched it to a genre that I haven't had any interest since. . . well . . . how long ago was SMASH TV out?
You do. I just read your posts.
yeah, I've pre-ordered that one too. It'll probably be too complicated for me, but I dig the premise.

The only version that we know about so far that is for sure top-down is the Xbox 360 version, but this was posted earlier today:
High Voltage - The Grinder shares content across all platforms, announcements for Wii version coming soon
"We have not made any announcements on the Wii version at this time, but I expect us to do so soon. I will say that all versions of the game will share a large portion of the content that we create." - David Pellas, High VoltageSmash TV came out in 1990.
They seem to cater to the wider demographic customer desires this gen though.
And I actually like the basics of their approach this gen, too bad for me no other third parties do.![Sad](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-frown.gif)
The fps must be cancelled. Smart of them not to release it on xbox though - that made no sense. Agree with you on the lack of interest though - it's the style for me as well. I might have checked out that animales game.
And thank god for that.
"All of this stuff is making all the designers sweat -- I've met lots of designers at GDC, and we're all very bleary-eyed at the moment because every rule we've got, we're having to throw away." - Peter Molyneux
All righty then. In that case I haven't cared about top down shooters for 2 decades. Well done High Voltage. If I ever find a time machine I will bring my 13 year old self to the future to enjoy this game.
i just ordered yakuza 3! this brings the total of ps3 games i bought full price to ... three (out of a collection of over 30). yakuza 3, demon's souls and blazblue.
just felt that i'd been so vocal about wanting sega to release this in the west that it would be hypocritical to wait for it to go hobo. this way i will have the right to bitch if they try not to do a western release for part 4.
still looking forward to getting: uncharted 2, assassins creed 2, god of war III, darksiders, final fantasy etc at nice hobo bin prices
edit: make that 4 games. i forgot street fighter IV

I heard about this yesterday.
So is this going to be a Live Arcade/PSN game or retail?
Also, I'm hearing that the Wii version will still be a FPS like L4D but they're changing it for the other consoles. Is this right?
