So you buy Darkside Chronicles instead of LKS?
Hey Vader, you want better 3rd party Wii games? How about buying some good games?! Endless Ocean 2, LKS or perhaps Silent Hill: Shattered Memories?!
Action speak louder than words, and your buying habits put you in the "mainstream whore" category.
I just don't know what to say to that.
Yep, I had to had to pay full price for Y3. Sega does listen. They said no to Y2 for years, until the community wore them down. I made sure to thank them by e-mail for releasing Y2 and 3. But if 4 bombs, that will be it for us westerners. In part 3 is coming out only to lift awareness of the series.
I've only paid full price for 5 PS3 games - Demon's Souls, the UC's, Y3 and Disgaea 3 (that's out of 44 titles).
Guys you know that I posted Bugsy porn before.
Now I will make Bugsy very sad.
Hey! Did you know Yakuza features a CRANE GAME?!?
CRANE!
GAME!
*Yeah. Good Luck winning any prizes from it though!*
On this third-party Wii thing... I've broken it down before, but it bears repeating, and unfortunately I have to use the "core" term to explain it.
1. Third party publishers and developers are by practice "core" developers. That has been their sole source of revenue for their entire existence. So right away they are out of their league in trying to appeal to the new customers that Nintendo has brought to the market with the Wii.
2. Core gamers who have a Wii also have at least one of the HD systems. If a core game is released for the Wii and for any of the other systems they would be more inclined to get that game on the HD system over the Wii -- and not just because of the graphics, but also because of the traditional controller form factor, online achievements and trophies or to play online with their friends.
What a load of bullshit. Motion control gaming is not the culprit here. Weird interfaces with even weirder hardware peripheral design is what's stressing them out.
I love Petey, but he's trying too hard with this shit. Hopefully things will work out, both for him and Microsoft's strange proposal. I'd be willing to believe, though, that the first batch of Natal-enabled software is going to provide enough gif material to last a lifetime.
I agree with 1 pretty much but disagree with you on 2. You're describing one type of core gamer (fps fans come to mind) - but there are other types of gamers.
It's like you used to be a core gamer if you played lots of games and were on top of the upcoming releases. Now to be a core gamer you need HD, a dualshock or dualshock copy and online achievements and trophies? Nuts to that. Dualshock is just an interface and online one option.
Third parties aren't interested in innovations just iterations. And why not when you have a built in audience married to dualshock controls, realistic graphics, and only online play.
Core gamers want to be able to play as broad a spectrum of games as is possible, which means ownership of a HD system in addition to a Wii is required.
Third parties are not interested in innovation or iterations. They are interested in money, and they follow their noses whereever that will lead them. If htey thought they could make more money making facebook games they'd abandon all of us in 3 weeks.
Well I never said those games would be better than the major third party stuff, they are not. I will get those games when I have disposable income or I will rent them. As for DSC, yeah thats on my RE obsession, we all have our own. I don't want just good games, I want EXCELLENT games (in genres I like). So that is why I buy Mario Galaxy, Metroid and Nintendo stuff.
I won almost every time I played in the demo.
One thing MM10 does have that is totally sweet is challenge modes. These are small challenege rooms you need to complete. They focus on a certain action like jumping, jumping in water, falling down and avoiding spikes, using boss weapons, etc. It's a sort of tutorial as it teaches you to handle the different environmental dangers plus it is challenging. There are about 80 in total.
I will probably beat the story tonight, hopefully the Wily stages get harder. One funny thing I saw was in the start screen when you choose between easy mode and normal mode it shows a picture showing the differences. On normal you see some gaps with spikes and an enemy at the end waiting to hit you as you jump. On easy that are covers on the spikes and no enemy, basically you just run across the screen.
I'm still waiting for Mega Man 10 to hit XBLA.
I dont get the release dates on this. What benefit could it possibly have.
I hear it's a baby game for babies, with it's Megan difficulty level.
It came out Wii first, then PSN then XBLA. Mabe Capcom is sucking up to the JP publishers for all thier gaijin-love making (Lost Planet, Dead Rising etc...).
