I'm probably going to throw down for this or a similar joystick soon. There are more VC Arcade games coming out that I like, plus the Data East Collection is a must buy. Throw T v. C. into the mix and it just seems to be a crime to play all these arcade games with a Wiimote.
Yeah, it looks like a cool stick. I don't want to pay $80 for it, though.
Oh a Dark Void demo is coming out tomorrow. That's great news. I've been looking forward to seeing how this game turns out.
Oooh wow too much. Fortunately there's this controller over at Amazon, which looks just as good but isn't an extra $40 just because it has SF characters on it.
I wonder how much money they have invested in all this stuff?
That looks like a much better deal.
Maybe the sales will increase? It worked for Mortal Kombat.
A lot of that is store display stuff (not most, but a lot), so perhaps not as much as it first appears. Probably a GameStop manager.
Note the Playstation lurking.
Oh lord, the pain.
Capcom France interview:
Capcom on Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles sales…
“As for Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, in absolute figures are not too bad, but it’s not going to lie, they are below what we hoped. After three weeks (the interview was conducted December 23, editor’s note), we are a total of 16,000 units sold. One feels that there is a problem very clear on this style of game on the Wii, where gamers are obviously moved on. There are two more years, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles had yet had a very very big success on Wii. Here we can see, the customer of this console has turned to something much broader audience. It is a disappointment.”
Yes we moved on, moved on from wanting light gun games. The Umbrella Chronicles Resident-Evil-loving-audience did not turn into Cooking Mama lovers. Yes there is a problem with this style of game (light gun) but its pretty obvious they are talking style as in (hardcore) game. Facepalm continues.
From the very moment Darkside was announced gamers were on Capcom boards telling them to GFO. And people like me who bought and enjoyed Umbrella Chronicles are giving Darkside a wide birth. The truth is that we expected them to move on, from lightgun to proper RE4 style game and they fucking failed.
Wow, 16k, holy shit. Good, not even the RE name could save this one. We dont want light gun games, we want a true RE game, why is this so hard to understand for game execs.
I finished Ratchet last night, brilliance from start to finish. The story really had me going, best story in the series.
"The Universe has a large sense of humor. The trick is learning how to take a joke." Awesome ending line. Can't wait to do challenge mode.
That is a nice line. Reminded me of Douglas Adams' books

Pretty much. The only way RE
C had a chance of success was if it was an immediate follow-up to the Umbrella Chronicles. Two years passed and in the interm Wii owners got more light gun games than we wanted (and it really didn't take that many). This game was shit on from the moment it was announced. In fact, I'm very hard pressed to think of a game that got a more negative reaction from its announcment.
If there is a silver lining here, it's that Capcom won't be tempted to make a third Chronicles game.
I was active on the Capcom boards then, it was a shit storm, so many threads, so many people asking why. Capcom sticking their fingers in their ears again. People are willing to buy these games, but only at hobo prices and by then its too late. Capcom don't have the excuses the other guys have, this is RE and Umbrella Chronicles sold as much as Dead Rising and Lost Planet. They can't complain about the audience, they fucked up with this one.
Lord, does everyone remember the collective facepalm when we found out that Dead Space Extraction would be on rails? What do these publishers expect? I'm in permanant Picard mode at the moment.
They expected to make lots of money with minimal effort, and use that money to fund their real games on 360/PS3.
So what's up here? People have been saying that they want the Wii to be in HD resolutions and how bad it looks on HDTVs because of bad scaling.
We have this device here that upscales wii to 1080p and eliminates jaggies on an HDTV leaving you with a crystal clear picture.
No one interested? I thought some of you guys would be all over this.
Don't you want to play NSMB in 1080p?

Does NSMB look like this on your HD set? Because it looks like jaggy crap on mine.
i would certainly be interested if i had an HDTV set

No, not really
It looks fine on my TV! Or perhaps jaggies don't bother me. It's much cheaper to stand further away from telly.
