How does it compare to mass effect? I've only played 3 bioware games.

It compares very well to Mass Effect. It's your typical Bioware game, superbly written and voice-acted. The dialog choices seem more varied and aren't as cut and dry to being good and bad. There's certainly some grey area in here with some really tough choices you'll need to make that can really impact the game. Gameplay is somewhat similar but the controls seem to work more fluid in this game. There's also a tactics system that works much like Final Fantasy XII where you can set certain parameters for the AI controlled characters and it's very well done with a ton of different variables and instances you can assign to them.

What was wrong with Final Fantasy 10?  That was one of PS2's best games! I like it more than FF12.

Oh you poor confused soul... FFX was the worst thing ever created. The 3rd stage of syphillis is preferrable to the should-have-been abortion that was FFX.  To give you the brief summary of why it sucks I offer the following:

• No exploration
• Same "rag-tag band of characters comes together to stop the evil force" plot
• Cliche cast of characters
• Wakka

Nice to see NyxQuest getting some recognition.  The developers at Over The Top Games did some fantastic game design with it.  They took a very original control concept and expanded it to make a very solid platformer that was much better than it really had any right to be.  I'd love to see what they could do without the size restriction of WiiWare holding them back.
