Scribblenauts is coming out so soon? Wow. I didn't realize that. That's definetely one to pick up. Based on the E3 hype, it's starting to look like it'll be the first real game of the year contender.
That's actually another good question since we are almost halfway through the year. Has there been a real GOTY contender released yet? I suppose GTA: CW is up there and maybe inFAMOUS. Other than that it's a tough call. By this time last year we'd already seen Brawl, GTA4, and MGS4 which were all very strong games and almost universally praised.
STREET. FIGHTER. IV ! ! !
Is that some kind of beat'em up? I've never heard of it.
Nothing I've played that has come out in 2009 has really been a game of the year kind of game to me yet.
Infamous is really good but I don't feel its AAA GOTY material. Its probably the best overall 2009 game I've played though. Everything else has been 2008 games for me. Or older.
Just got back from Target, they have a lot of great 360 games really cheap now. And a bunch of absolute crap on the Wii.
I saw Mass Effect, The Darkness, GRAW 1 & 2, Vegas 1 & 2, Orange Box, Tomb Raider remake, Oblivion, and more all for under $30 brand new. Most of them were actually $20.
Also temporary price cuts on many newer games. Fable 2 for $30. Riddick for $40.
And last year after they'd been played everybody realised Brawl, GTA4 and MGS4 were not GOTY contendors at all!
*shakes head*
This year so far, RE5. Screw the haters. But to be honest if it ends up as my GOTY, its been a crappy year. So I doubt it will be my GOTY but its a contender for sure.
Its nothing like that for PS3 games, for some reason they hardly ever go on sale. When there is a big clearance sure you will see PS3 games but normal sales, normal bargin bins, all I see are 360 games. I go to my BB and I can get a ton of 360 games for $20, pretty damn good ones too. I see no PS3 games at all. They dont go down in price, I dont get it.
Cool list.
I dont have money so its not like I can really get anything but say I did have money from that list this is what I would want from the Wii:
The Must Play Games:
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles
The Games I'm Considering (good reviews and/or extra spending money may be needed)
Little King Story
Wii Sports Resort
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Dead Space Extraction
Red Steel 2
The WiiWare
Cave Story
Contra Rebirth
Lost Winds II
Exactly not one of them has Madworld.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
That game came out last year.
No it came out in 1991, it was called Street Fighter 2 back then
Only in the arcades. SFIV came out for consoles in February 2009 worldwide.
Ghostbusters pissed me off. The game does not have a checkpoint for when you are at base. I finished the second level, afterwards it takes you to the HQ where you can walk around and there it advances the story. I figured that is a perfect place to stop the game. I go back to start it up and it automatically starts me at the beginning of the third level, apperantly there is no checkpoint for the HQ. I missed all the story, I had no idea what was going on. I had to go on youtube to watch all the cutscenes that happened and it was major stuff. So never quit your game when in HQ it wont save it there.
Oh and the load times, when you die and restart, are so long there is a movie clip that plays with the official theme song to entertain you. Also while I was playing just now, the frame rate dropped so badly it went to zero for about 3 seconds.
Not the best made game out there.
But I am in the library now fighting that librarian ghost from the first movie. I went into that exact room from the movie and the cards started to fly out of the drawers, so cool.
You should be playing the superior wii version!
No, the Xbox 360 has the most superior version!
Tell that to GS!
