Castlevania looks the nuts!
Interested to see what Other M is like, I loved the first 2 Prime games and the 2D Metroids are always great so will be interesting to see what they do.
Not read too much on Project Natal yet but seems cool.
Wii Vitality - lolololol....
tiger woods seems to be getting universally positive reviews. my only problem is a complete lack of interest in golf. i thought i was sure to get grand slam tennis (or the other tennis game) so i could get my hands on the motion plus thingy but the mixed reviews are making me more hesitant. i may wait until sports resort which i'll definitely get for the jet-ski.

Don't let that put you off. I couldn't care less about golf but I've always found golf games to be strangely addictive ever since playing Tiger Woods golf '97 on PC or whatever the hell it was called. They're golf, but nothing like golf and as such not boring .
that's cool. if you and iga are getting it and it has decent online, i may very easily be persuaded to buy it

Maybe motion plus will make it too much like golf for you then and actually make the gameplay boring lol.
Frisbe golf sounds fun.
If your getting it too bugs then looks like I'm making 2 purchases tomorrow. Expensive month for me -.-
Anyone planning on getting the Conduit too?
Damn straight I am getting it!
Grand Slam Tennis got:
9/10 NOM magazine
9/10 Gamesradar
8.5 IGN
5/10 Eurogamer
IGN says its like Super tennis and possibly the best tennis game ever made? I think Eurogamer has it wrong this time. There are a bunch of good-great games launching recentely but I can't muster interest.
Damn animal crossing eats up at least an hour a day, so I dont feel like playing other games.
i am having the same problem with animal crossing, i have punch-out and little king's story still in shrink-wraps because i can't be asked to get animal crossing out of the disc drive. so for the last months i've only played animal crossing and wiiware/virtual console games.
it was the reason i eventually stopped playing wild world ... just so i would get to play other games.

This is why Digital Distribution is the way forward
It's such an easy game to play, because there is no punishment and no objectives. It's like the video game equivalent of tinkering around the garden for half an hour each day. It's just consequence free gaming, so much so that it makes other games feel like a chore.
I just saw Grand Slam tennis price listings. Ewwwwwww. £45?
Wii Sports resort is only £38.
Motionplus standalone (which is pointless unless you are dead set on Virtua tennis) is £15.
i think you may be right. especially the way the wii menu is set-up in channels just choosing one of the games on there is so much easier than dealing with boxes and discs and what not. how lazy am i?
yep, totally. it just allows you to be lazy and i'm afraid that's what i am ... especially this time of year.

I thought the point of bundles was to get a good deal?
Grand Slam tennis standalone is £30
Motionplus standalone is £15
The bundle is £45?
What sense does that make?
At least with Sports resort you can get the bundle for £38 and say, yeah, motionplus for £8.
Another day and another great review for Grand Slam Tennis.
NOM truncated review (check updates for full thing)
One, most importantly, Grand Slam Tennis itself is worth shouting about. Two, a gaping hole in the tennis genre has been filled. Three, EA Sports, not Nintendo, is leading the Wii MotionPlus charge.
The fun cartoony presentation shouldn't obscure the fact that underneath lies a dynamic, exciting game. Even without the Wii MotionPlus adaptor attached, this is a satisfyingly subtle and strategic affair.
Click the attachment into place at the base of the Remote and the whole thing is shifted up a level. The game recognises it automatically and after a couple of seconds holding the Remote still for it to sync up, the effect is immediately obvious.
In fact, to start with it's a little off-putting as the increased sensitivity to what you're doing with the Wii Remote is totally disorientating. Suddenly your shots are thumping into the net and bouncing way over the tramlines, and to add to the confusion your player is often facing the wrong way thanks to the slightest flick of the Remote in the wrong direction. You serve too weakly, or too long, or miss the ball entirely.
It's certainly a frustrating introduction to this brave new world of control, but something manages to shine through and keep you hooked long enough to improve your game. It's a rare thing, but even when you're playing badly it feels like you're playing tennis and you'll want to nail it. You're no Henman nearly-man. You're the best, dammit. Or at least you will be once you've figured out how to stop turning your back to the court at inopportune moments.
The Remote is gripped much like an actual racquet, so if you tilt it to either side you rotate the face of the racquet. Tilting it back and forth does the same on-screen. Your general body shape actually influences what your player does. Swing your arm from across your body and a backhand is played, while opening your body up smacks a forehand. It's intuitive and very nearly flawless (once you've acclimatised to it all of course), but it means that your own mistakes are made that much more obvious.
EA Sports is to be congratulated. Right away it has created something which takes great advantage of Wii MotionPlus'more accurate motion-sensing capabilities. The combination of vibrant responsive gameplay, a quirky take on the genre and, of course, Wimbledon itself, make this just about the perfect game for an English summertime. You can almost smell the strawberries and cream.

Yikes at those numbers
I dont know, I feel like Infamous is a bit low even for one week. Thats when a game does most of its sales. It's just sad to see an excellent game struggling to chart against stuff like Wii Fit, EA active, Mario Kart, Wii Play. Punch-Out was good, its a really odd game for todays gamers, glad it made the list. UFC is HUGE, wow! Wolverine deserves the sales.
Hardware is just terrible for all. Is the wii finally slowing down? Has the recession caught up with the game industry?
I'm just shocked that UFC actually beat the Wii Fit. That's nuts!
Congratulations America. Your NPD numbers have actually shocked me.
There are actually Wii owners that still don't own Wii Fit? That's amazing. No game on earth should ever sell 350K one year after it's release. EA looks like they'll be making a killing on EA Sports Active. I don't know if it'll do Wii Fit numbers, but it'll do a solid 3 million before its all over. EA deserves it though. They didn't just make a cheap Wii Fit knock-off. There's a lot of effort in this game. I think they're going to see similar numbers for Tiger Woods as well. They've finally figured out the Wii and deserve to reap success from it.
UFC 2009 shocked the hell out of me. Where did that come from?? I guess the fans out there have been clamoring for a game for a while. Nice to see that they came out strong for it. Certainly sounds like a lot of work was put into it.
Punch Out was a little lower than I expected. I really thought it would break 200K. But I suspect a lot of people went the Vader route of just renting it. Oh well, it's still respectable.
Overall it's a good month. Of course Mario Kart, Wii Play, and Wii Fit all showed up but I suppose it wouldn't be the NPD without them.
We almost got Wii Play off the list, damn it!
UFC didnt surprise me that much, MMA is taking off like crazy here. Every PPV is a big event, guys of my generation love it and we so happen to be the core gaming demographic, so there you go.
Playing Infamous right now and its definitely one of the best PS3 exclusives no doubt. But hasn't this been the way with PS3 exclusives though since day 1? Not selling even close to what they should be?
Multi-platform games have been doing better than the exclusives all along, which is why its kind of a joke that it seems people bought the PS3 for all the same games they could have gotten on 360, usually better.
Everything thats happened with that system has been such a disappointment compared to PS1 and PS2. Even the userbase is retarded.
Yeah pretty slow sales all around on hardware except for the DS which is doing very well thanks to the DSi.
UFC surprised me a bit. By all accounts it is an excellent game but I wasn't expecting it to sell quite that well.
It's a shame Bionic Commando didn't make the top ten.
The Wii numbers are finally coming down to earth and could possibly force Nintendo to cut the price before the end of this year. They were making money off the system from day one so they must be making a killing off it these days.
