For a really long time it was Dan from Street Fighter. I loved playing as an underdog that was handicapped straight from the start. These days its Adon from Street Fighter. Love that the guy has attacks from above and below and is an asshole to boot.
And from non-SF games Captain Kidd from World Heroes 2. That's a series that needs to be brought back, and he was my go to. Best pirate to ever appear in a game.
And from the Street Fighter blacksheep, EX Plus Alpha - Skullio and Crackerjack were epic.

Yeah Dan has always been a favourite of mine. His hidden "super taunt" was just too awesome.

I'll be beige and choose Ryu from Streetfighter.
You can spam people with fireballs then Dragon Punch when they try to jump near you. Or drop down on top and whirlwind kick them. His uppercut is pretty great too, he's powerful but not too powerful. Just feels weighted about right. The perfect comprimise between speed and power balance and good arm/leg reach.
