Was more into the demos of Horizon and The Last Guardian.
Ultimately, I expect Mass Effect: Andromeda to be my favourite, but my interest is low until it's near release. Until then I'm most intrigued by Horizon: Zero Dawn and World of Final Fantasy.

Hey I didn't pick MGSV as my game of show for that reason!
I don't see why a game showing up at a bunch of other things would invalidate it from game of the show. If something looks the most interesting to play then I'd rather pick that game than some new game that does nothing for me. Likewise it wasn't like Uncharted 4 was something we hadn't seen, we literally just saw it in December/January, and I stand by the assessment that the demo from PSX was way more interesting to watch than the on rails stuff they showed at E3 this year. Plus it isn't like it's even on show floor for an actual human being to even try that game out. Cuphead you can go online and find people playing that game, ditto for things like MGS V. Uncharted 4 was a stage demo and some hype train about behind closed door scenes.
@GG: I think Nintendo tends to get more reactions when they have an art style that grabs people. For instance Yoshi got a good reaction last year because of that cool art, Cuphead is similar. A lot of us are reacting to "HOLY SHIT THAT GAME LOOKS INSANE" while ignoring that gameplay wise it looks like some bullet hell shooter type thing/megaman joint where everything is a boss fight thing. Of course I think that sounds cool and actually fun to play, but I digress. Point is they didn't exactly show Zelda gameplay last year, but people lost their mind because it looked pretty. Spectacle and visuals gets a game pretty far in terms of E3 noise.
Regardless their direct this year was boredom fuel+they made some lame thing out of the Metroid IP.
Well if they don't show anything new then how is it really game of the show? It would have been game of whatever show it was shown at before. The Uncharted 4 demo was incredible and the behind the door stuff descibes one of the greatest action sequences ever put in a game, it was nothing like what they showed earlier. Cup head has shown nothing new, the footage looks near identical.
I'm going to say Fast Racing Neo. Because it's about the only thing I watched. Because it's basically F-zero. Because it restored my faith in the game after loisng it due to it's protracted development time.

Falsehood! Lots of new stuff was shown and apparently it's gone from being a boss rush to a game with actual levels to complete.

I get what you are saying, but a lot of games where shown before, and it was revealed at last year's E3. Nothing to hate abuot it, it's mega man but with a look that has never been seen before. It's kinda like Viewtiful Joe, but more original.

I actually did watch the clip today and it is UTTERLY gorgeous! I can completely understand the love. Can't describe it well enough to do it justice. Imagine hunting half-mechanical, half-organic dinosaur creatures, using stealth, melee, guns, bows... You just have to see it to believe it!

Fair enough on Cuphead, but in general there were less E3 floor demo footage for that game last year to truly be a believer, but doesn't apply to MGS V. Unlike UC4 which again is conjecture at best based on what, a bunch of critics gassing that games demo back stage? You have no actual context for how good said footage actually is. Which still makes Uncharted 4 one of those games at E3 that doesn't have gameplay demos on the show floor for other people to actually try out to see if it's the real deal in those areas. Hell even the gaming media didn't get a hands on, they watched some dude play.
