Stealing from  secret society forum, I know, but what are you playing this weekend?

I'm still drudging through PSP Vice City Stories. Mission 46 of probably about 65.  Game is not great, but I have to finish it.

Also planning to start HOTDGASPKill.

Blazblue, Gears 2, and Batman AA. I'd like to get back to where I left off in Infinite Undiscovery also. I beat Contra: Rebirth today on Normal and like to beat it on the other difficulties but I don't know if I'll be doing that this weekend.

The Beatles Rock Band for Wii.  I've had Here Comes the Sun in my head all day.

How do the graphics compare to the other versions?  How are the character models?

Thanks (sarcasm) now it's in my head.

Is M-Tril worth it if you already own the others?

I can't say about other versions first-hand, but the game is very stylized and everything seems to look simply as it should.  Honestly, aside from resolution, I'm not sure I'd even notice the difference.

I'm playing a lot on my Xbox 360 this weekend.

Full Games:
  • Forza 2 - Had this one for six months. I'm just chipping away at it slowly.
  • PGR3 - Cool game, but I wish it didn't break up the races so much with cone/ time challenges. Sometimes I  just want to race other cars, dammit!
  • Prey - I just picked this one up tonight for $6. I'll be spending a good deal of time with it this weekend.

Demos:
  • Wet - I really didn't know much about this game before I played the demo, but it reminds me a lot of Stranglehold, both in graphics style and the over-the-top shooting gameplay. It also mixes in a bit of Kill Bill-style swordplay. It was an enjoyable demo. I plan to rent the full game soon.
  • Batman - Pretty good, but it didn't quite hook me.
  • Fuel - Open world racing game meets Mad Max. It didn't do anything for me. Meh.
  • Grid - Didn't like the drifting races very much (sideways racing, FTL), but the standard racing is a lot of fun.
  • Dirt 2 - Seems like a good game. The demo was quite challenging--maybe too challenging.
  • Mini Ninjas - Demo is kinda boring. Graphics could easily be done on Wii, which is surprising.
  • Xmen Origins of Wolverine - Haven't played yet.
  • Fracture Demo - Haven't played yet.

The Trilogy is worth it to me to have all three games in one, plus new remote controls.

How can you play PGR and Forza at the same time?

^Your'e a wild cat man. Seriously, re the controls basically the same? Are there some tracks that over-lay?

I'm looking forward to the Gran Turismo for PSP, it's been about 8 years since I got into a sim-racer (GT2) so I'm about due. I'm figuring Gran T for the PS3 won't be out until 2011 - 2012 (non-sardonic estimate).

Near as I can tell, the tracks are completely different, but the controls are basically the same. Really, the only difference between the two is how each game handles car physics: Forza 2 is a much more realistic sim style, while PGR has a subtle arcade-like feel. I have no problem jumping back and forth between the two games at all.

Gran Turismo 5 will probably convince me to buy a PS3 someday . . . if it ever comes out.

I reinstalled Dawn of War. I'll start playing it tonight. Other than that, Braid maybe. Perhaps Siren Blood Curse as well.

Also playing Nanostray 2, Contra IV (again), and Mario VS Donkey Kong.

I'm sort of in an anti-gaming mode right now.  The Summer of handheld gaming kind of burned me out. I've got Muramasa here just waiting to be opened, but no interest in actually playing it.

However that doesn't mean I'm not playing anything.  Harvest Moon Magical Melody is currently in my Wii and I've been spending some time with that.  Harvest Moon is my anti-gaming game/series.  The pacing is pretty much set by you, and while there is an actual goal to drive towards there's no particular way you need to do it.  I've always enjoyed that kind of freedom in a game.

I've been updating my VC titles and reorganising titles. I finally got the code right to make some VC games work on component interlace mode on an HDTV. What a pain in the ass.

Otherwise I'm playing animal crossing, Phoenix Wright 3 - probably on the toilet, and maybe some little kings story. Maybe.
