Tempted to say fuck it and forget about this game as everybody here will be over it by the time I get to play it ... especially as I have also booked to get away for Christmas. Without the gamecube adaptor thingy it won't be much use for local MP as I only have one classic controller
They did release in Europe, but they're quite rare. I've only seen them bundled with the game, and not where I got my copy.

No wii remotes?
It looks like Nintendo underestimate the demand for the GC adaptor. Thing is, they announced 8 player smash so we're all looking around for old controllers to use. I have 2 GC controllers, 2 wiimotes, so 5 player smash is possible with the adaptor, 3 player without. I have a classic controller to, but if it's hooked up to a wiimote, you can't use it and the same wiimote at the same time right?
As soon as I finish dragon age (which is never) I will get back into this, which maybe when GG gets the game.
Oh dear god.... I didn't realize the Sonic Colors theme song was on the Smash soundtrack. God this song was bad...

I removed it, so bad.
Playing as the Villager is so weird. Never thought planting trees and watering them in the middle of a fight could be so exciting!
I wish I had more time to play this. I wish I had more time to play anything really Also, with my game time being so limited, I find myself falling back on the fighters I already own, which also is quite a shame really. Oh well, one more week and the holidays start.

One day, it's my dream that you play Animal Crossing for a couple of months straight.
Rumour has it that I'll be getting an Amiibo figurine from my 3-year old son for christmas. Chances are high that it'll be one from the Mario universe, as he knows those. Anyhow, this got me thinking about how the amiibo are used in SSBu. Basically they're sparring partners to play against right? I'd like to pick Marth, as he's my personal pick of the roster of fighters, but that means I'd be stuck with Marth VS Marth for a lot of the fights... I know my wife is fond of Yoshi, but I can't stand the thought of battling him for hours on end.

Only if he's ereoneously constructed.
Well, somewhere this week I experienced my first online battle against 'Friends'. I kind of partycrashed into 2 people from the VU who were fighting eachother. And then proceeded to suck. Seriously, I felt like I was 3 , wanting to play with some of the big kids.
First time I went in overenthousiastic, only to realize after some untimely deaths that they were playing a stock match, not a time match as has been the default option since Melee. I managed to win one match as Link, where I pinned my last opponent down in the bottom right corner of the huge Zeldat Temple level, spamming him with bombs, and another match where my one opponent chose Princess Peach. Granted, I was playing as Mr.Game & Watch, but it still felt like more of an insult with him playing as Peach.
So yeah, it's true that I still need some more time with SSBu to reach my former level, but all in all I ended up feeling not all that welcome. So here's to the VGPress! WOOOOOOOH VGPress! Now let me win some whenever I manage to find any of you playing SSBu online

Agreed, but since I got used to playing timed matches over the last decade, I wasn't expecting it to be a stock match.
Here's a tip for playing against Japanese gamers online. Play as either Bowser or Charizard. Playing as a giant dragon will give you a mental edge against them.

Post of the day.
Thanks Leo. I wasn't despairing so much as I can't say that I've been a huge fan of the series personally. I played very little of Melee and even less of Brawl even though I bought both pretty well upon release, so really I can take it or leave it. If I get it, it will be in order to have some fun online with you guys ... but realistically it will be the middle of January before I can have the game (and to be able to play it) so I will have to wait and see how much you guys are still playing it nearer the time.
